When Will Hillary Offer A Choice, And Not An Echo? In my view, never.

America is not ready yet for what needs to be done. That's good, because nobody's offering to do it, either. The DLC is a rearguard operation, an attempt to stanch the bleeding of the Democratic Party as America drifts further and further right.

But it's not going to work; the drift will continue until only the democratic wing of the Democratic Party becomes palatable again. That will happen when we hit rock bottom, when the whole country rolls over, grinds its teeth in pain from the hangover, and thinks "God, how did I end up in bed with this crack whore?!"

The $3000 college tax credit is merely an echo of the existing tax law, except that it doesn't mention ceasing after the first two years of college.

While waiting for the power to return, I just finished reading To Make Men Free by Richard Croker. In that book, the author raises the issue that General McClellan was playing for a tie in order to avoid losing the United States as it had been before the Civil War started.

One can only wonder if this isn't the strategy of the DLC - protecting the corporate campaign funding status quo. Any other strategy would require playing to win - and nowhere in the recent actions of the Democratic Party is there any evidence that playing to win is the intention - especially in those who owe their political existence to the DLC. This includes the Clintons.

Hillary arranged for her husband to campaign for Joementum after Joe whined and carried on to her during a meeting in the US Capitol.

Very slick. Hillary can now play good cop/bad cop vis a vis Lieberman.

She's an opportunistic DINO.

Today on the Tweety Show, they cut to Clinton stumping for Joe. Joe was all over Bill like a prom date with overactive hormones. Pat, Shrum, and Tweety were laughing at the spectacle.

What a pathetic jerk.

"Create an independent, non-partisan commission...".

There's no such thing in this day and age, and it's goddamn insulting for her to suggest otherwise.

Regarding Clinton's affair with Monica, Lieberman said for the record on the floor of the Senate: "Such behavior is not just inappropiate, it's immoral."

Now if he was talking about Bill stumping for him today, I would agree.

Did Joe do anything that might be considered immoral regarding his divorce?

The good news and bad news is that we already know all that we are ever going to know about Hillary Clinton. She has nothing to offer that hasn't been offered by the other Loser Democrats.

She is not blind, she is not deaf, she is not stupid. She is deliberate, calculating and utterly without principle.

"Such behavior is not just inappropiate, it's immoral."

I wonder how Clinton was introduced at the Lieberman event today?

Ladies and Gentlemen, let's put 'em together and have a great big warm welcome for that notorious immoral fornicator...the dear dear friend and supporter of Senator Lieberman...former President Bill "Big Dog" Clintonnnnnnnn!!!!!

Gore/Edwards

"Such behavior is not just inappropiate, it's immoral."

Well, I hate to bring this up, but what Clinton did was immoral. Immoral in a way that had nothing at all to do with anybody outside the Clinton family, sure; but immoral. I would bet you Clinton himself would agree with that—at least while the cameras were rolling.

Posted by dj moonbat at July 24, 2006 09:29 PM

Granted that Hillary is a celebrity, even so there's no way she's going to win a dem primary or caucus. So let's stop wasting time on her and focus on the realities: Clark, Edwards, Gore....

Well, my Mother always told me that you are judged by the company you keep. Let's see, the Clintons hang out with George H. W. Bush and Babs and support traitor Lieberman. Nuff said.

Posted by Judith at July 25, 2006 05:17 AM

I would bet you Clinton himself would agree with that—at least while the cameras were rolling.

Absolutely. Just glad to see that Joe has gotten over his aversion to a little immorality. He'll accept the fornicators support now that his political prick is in a pickle.

This laundry list sounds just like the Clinton campaign in 1996 -- little bite sized proposals that don't do anything, except fill the media vacuum one day after another.

The Clintons are fast becoming the Bourbons of the Democratic Party -- they learn nothing, and forget nothing.

dj: Chiroptera's don't have oral sex? Are their little bat-spines too ridgid? Don't even get me started on religious "morals".

Posted by TIKI AL at July 25, 2006 08:53 AM

Wow. How soon we forget.
When Clinton left office we had a BUDGET SURPLUS. We weren't engagind in Pre-emptive Wars, We didn't have a giant Trade Deficit with China, Americans STILL had jobs in manufacturing.....
Maybe you were all in diapers then.

Posted by tmgt at July 25, 2006 09:34 AM

tmgt:

All those good things don't give her a pass to forget why Democrats are Democrats, and who we are fighting for. We aren't going to win in 2008 on bite-sized ideas that the DLC is happy with.

Posted by Steve Soto at July 25, 2006 10:59 AM

She will be out of the primary the day after Super Tuesday.

Gore/Feingold.

In Newt Gingrich's immortal words from ten years ago: "tiny ideas from tiny minds." Can't say I would disagree with him.

Posted by Smallbottle at July 25, 2006 11:30 AM

Media Matters has been making a stink about a reporter mangling Hillary's words to make a right-wing partisan point. I have zero problems hammering the media for that as Hillary is presently a stand-in for everybody to the left of Bush & Co.
Does that mean I'm looking forward to Hillary in the Oval Office? Hardly. I'd MUCH prefer someone like Feingold or Gore.

Posted by Rich at July 25, 2006 12:16 PM

remember, this is the politics of triangulation. That was fine in the 1990s but it is not fine now. Our goal is not to appease the right wing. Our goal is to take back the House and the Senate. Triangulation isn't good enough.

James E. Powell:
Yes, Hillary showed her true colors when she "made" $100,000 trading in cattle futures in less than a year. On a $1,000 initial investment. No wonder her husband made it to the presidency. She's a genius... or big crook. Me thinks crook, which also makes her a perfect candidate for the presidency.

$100,000 trading in cattle futures in less than a year.

wow, that's a lot of money. tee hee.

Posted by snark at July 26, 2006 10:43 AM

The point is she is a crook... also. All our top leaders are corrupt.
