Boehner is a boner. He is a heavy smoker. Let's hope it kills him. I'm going to protest everything Aug 12 in front of the WH, and I look forward to a grand time. I live in the Metro Dick area, so why not? If we're covered by the press and TV, watch for the sign I'll carry and thrust in front of any camera. It will say: I'm representing Left Coasters!
Is everybody proud of our Oprah wannabe Condi? Mark my words, she'll have her own feel good show on telly soon.
Posted by Mal Feasance at July 31, 2006 03:56 PMMal, I'm sure the Condi show will be all about shoes!
If dems can't win on the Social Security issue, they're trying to lose.
Posted by iamcoyote at July 31, 2006 04:31 PMHastert has been promising this all along. Has everyone been asleep?
Who do you have to kick over at the DCCC to get them to wake up to the fact that no, they might not take a majority in November, and maybe they should start spending a little money hedging against Hastert?
These people have no strategy whatsoever.
Posted by raisin at July 31, 2006 04:55 PMsure, they'll try again in 07, and they'll keep trying until they are voted out. The elimination of SS is a key, along with eliminating income tax. They will never give up.....on anything. They'll have to be voted out. Is that so hard for everyone to see?
Posted by T2 at July 31, 2006 05:35 PMIt's a dead issue for a dead Congress
Posted by Parallax at July 31, 2006 07:19 PMBoehner, bring it on. Absolutely f*cking amazing. If Boehner thinks Bush will get reform of SS after his Medicare Drug reform, he is truly crazy. They would do well to remember one thing. Millions of baby boomers are getting ready to go on SS, and they vote.

We're just about where we were in the early 1930's in that the GOP is so moss backed that they need about a 20 loss of power before they can purify themselves enough to become a competent governing party again. Rove and all of his wannabees need to go. More to the point, there needs to be a culture change toward public financing of campaigns. And that won't happen over night.
