We see that there is not great leadership from the federal government
Understatement of the century, Mr. Obvious.

On the contrary, the Cheney Assministration is leading us full-speed into corrupt feudalism, resource-war militarism and 17th century theocracy.

[Editor: ignore=off]In many ways, California should be viewed as a nation state (pop 35 million, sixth largest economy in the world) and it has increasingly been acting like one.
It government alone has attempted to use its market power to require progress from our hopeless domestic auto industry (electric cars, fuel requirements, etc.) while the worthless Reactionary federal "government" does absolutely nothing.
If progressive California and its citizens (one of the few beacons of hope for our country) now turn their eyes toward stem cell research and combating global warming, they will once again be leading the way, as they have done so often and on so much in our society, and showing the "conservative" Reactionary Rightists for they worthless, foul turds that they are.
Posted by euzoius at August 2, 2006 06:39 AMA new site popped up for CA that I found interesting http://www.solutionsfolorglobalwarming.org/globalwarming/california.html And it suddenly struck me, (it's been so long I barely recognized it) that there is a pride in leadership...here comes Calif, my old home state, standing up, taking ownership and actively looking to do something. I hear individual cities and perhaps a state or two are joining Kyoto Treaty ... w/o Feds. American leadership to solve problems, God I've missed it.
Posted by mainsailset at August 2, 2006 07:10 AMThis is big, the left promotes infusion cannibalism for the rich to feed on the tissue of the helpless, harvested from the underclass. Couldn't get more progressive than that.
Thank god you people cut your own throat so much that not even real christians can stand you any longer.
Posted by phidipides at August 2, 2006 08:36 AMCannibalism. Is that like eating the body of Christ?
Sorry, Catholic damage. I was sent (actually dragged kicking, screaming and biting) to the office for that question. Never got an answer, either.
Posted by iamcoyote at August 2, 2006 08:45 AMIamcoyote-LOL thanks for the morning pickmeup.
Posted by mainsailset at August 2, 2006 09:48 AMA pleasure, mainsailset. I suppose you can guess what my first confession was.
Posted by iamcoyote at August 2, 2006 11:07 AMI want to know where Benito is getting his copy. He's not bright enough to come up with it himself.

And in the last 5 years, I've been wishing more and more that we would secede.

Then again, cities in CA have just about the worst public transit and urban planning that one could imagine.
