That was a cute demonstration by the kitty-cat of what bush did with the constitution.
Posted by TIKI AL at August 21, 2006 02:37 AMThe problem was they thought they just had to say no to getting pregnant, not no to sex.
Posted by snark at August 21, 2006 05:54 AMAnd how does one do that Snark-o?
Look into the mirror, look deep into my eyes, You Will Not Get Pregnant, Youuuuu Willll Noooooot Geeeet Preeeeeenanaaaaant . .
Posted by idiosynchronic at August 21, 2006 06:32 AMThe fundie headcases and their "ignorance is bliss" approach to teen sex produces nothing but babies and STDs.
Intellectual dishonesty is on display today as a number of bloggers and radio talkingheads have taken to referring to John Mark Karr as a "child murderer."
Odd? Strange? Peculiar? Yes, yes, and yes.
But, no one's been charged, there hasn't been a trial, and no jury has passed sentence.
The culture we inhabit is all too quick to try and convict someone before all the facts are known.
Posted by Christopher at August 21, 2006 07:38 AMWhat are the Canton Conservatives doing basing public policy decisions on actual empirical evidence?
This "procedure" better not get back to the Home Office, or heads will roll.
The girls boldly acted, but can't seem to make their own reality, the little ideological failures.
Posted by euzoius at August 21, 2006 08:01 AM"If we withdraw from Iraq, the enemy will follow us home." "It would be a huge mistake to leave Iraq now."
And when it comes to making huge mistakes, this guy knows what he's talking about.
Does anyone know if "My Pet Goat" has a happy ending?
Posted by TIKI AL at August 21, 2006 08:15 AMChristopher, does it make you wonder just a bit that Homeland Security agents were involved in Karr's arrest and return to the US? Seriously, I understand this is a nice little diversion from the tedium of soldiers dying in Iraq, August is a slow news month, of course, but does Karr really represent a threat to Homeland Security?
Posted by ann at August 21, 2006 08:41 AMMandatory lead chastity belts would solve the teen pregnancy problem, and provide a degree of privacy from the pornographic airport security x-ray machines.
The constant exposure to lead may render some of the sex-crazed youths sterile, which in the case of the teen trolls would be a huge benefit to mankind.
Posted by TIKI AL at August 21, 2006 09:07 AMann,
I'm so glad you noticed this too.
Homeland Security? Ah, maybe this is why they can't apprehend Osama bin Laden? They're using resources (READ: our tax dollars) to insert themselves in local law enforcement matters.
Karr was "deported." So, why aren't Boulder PD and/or FBI sufficient?

You forgot about the anal intercourse and oral sex.
I really can't figure out the motivation for that "abstinence only" crap. It is absolute fiction. People have sex - especially young who are not empowered with the truth about their bodies.
I wonder if the goal is to increase unwanted pregnancies and limit choices of young women.
I have been watching the docu Children Underground over the last couple of weeks.
(Hey, anytime I try to post a link to IMDB I get a 'questionable content' error - why is that?)
It is very hard to watch, I can only watch a little at a time.
This is the truth of what happens when you outlaw birth control. It is truly horrific.
Posted by Anjha at August 21, 2006 11:10 AMJust want to say congratulations Anjha on your new site.
Posted by Seven of Six at August 21, 2006 11:17 AMI scrolled-up in the 2nd link Mary provided and found this interesting tidbit:
The New Meme: Democracy as Extremism
Two days after Ned Lamont beat Joe Lieberman in the primary, New York Times columnist David Brooks announced that voters shouldn't be allowed to decide elections. Yes, that's right - he wrote:
"Polarized primary voters shouldn't be allowed to define the choices in American politics."
Is it up to the deciderer to deciderate who we can make our decision-erations about? Time to get the pitchforks and flaming faggots ready.
Posted by phidipides at August 21, 2006 11:28 AMThe democrats are planning to add the Nevada caucas after Iowa and before NH (leaving NH as the first primary) and adding SC shortly after NH.
NH is getting all bent out of shape. Can someone explain this to me? I mean, there's tradition and all, but don't they want what's best for getting democrats elected? I always wondered what was so special about Iowa and NH that they basically get to decide our presidential nominee. There's certainly no point in voting in a primary here in MD.

They've got 'big state envy'.

I just wanted to echo Seven of Six's congrats to Anjha on her new Progressive Action Spot.
And yes, that was total blogpimping. Wanna make something of it?
Thanks SOS and Coyote - do I have to change into blogwhore clothes now?
Posted by Anjha at August 21, 2006 01:24 PMNah, just the stiletto heels with the FM ankle strap, and you'll be fine.

Posted by euzoius at August 21, 2006 01:33 PMYou said it, euzoius, even with a twisted site like ours, it takes up lots of the day. But it's fun, as well.

Church Fires Teacher for Being Female
WATERTOWN, N.Y. (Aug. 21) - The minister of a church that dismissed a female Sunday School teacher after adopting what it called a literal interpretation of the Bible says a woman can perform any job - outside of the church.
The First Baptist Church dismissed Mary Lambert on Aug. 9 with a letter explaining that the church had adopted an interpretation that prohibits women from teaching men. She had taught there for 54 years.
The letter quoted the first epistle to Timothy: "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent."

Anjha, no, but watch out for those blogwhores in troll clothing.
I really can't figure out the motivation for that "abstinence only" crap.
Dancing. Sex leads to dancing. Something baptists hate worse than anything.
