Maybe he just needed a ride home. (And a little publicity).

Posted by Mimikatz at August 28, 2006 02:14 PM

Let me see: No charges. He can now profit from his statements. Hmmmm...he just made of himself a millionaire. Dirtball + Millionaire = republi-con Dirtball. Amazing how that works. He isn't as big a sleaze as the Buschco dirtballs since they actually do murder children -rape them too, but I'm sure he can be one of their buds because of his aspirations.

Posted by phidipides at August 28, 2006 02:24 PM

For some reason the song "Cars" pops into my head eveytime I see a pic of this guy.

Posted by snark at August 28, 2006 02:27 PM

Really, who was surprised? This was a setup from day one, the same day the media had a huge, messy orgasm over the news and proclaimed him guilty.

Posted by iamcoyote at August 28, 2006 02:42 PM

And when will the "media" inform us as to why the Dept of Homeland Security was involved in this fiasco?

Posted by leftymn at August 28, 2006 02:45 PM

And when will the "media" inform us as to why the Dept of Homeland Security was involved in this fiasco?

It's classified...except for the part where the agents got a free trip to Thailand...no doubt to visit a brothel.

Posted by phidipides at August 28, 2006 02:52 PM

P-dip, and Neil Bush says hi to his bro!

Posted by iamcoyote at August 28, 2006 02:56 PM

Not just the MSM.

A few high profile bloggers referred to Karr as a "child murderer." Not the "self-confessed child murderer," but the "child murderer."

What happened to the presumption of innocence?

Early on, it became clear the Boulder D.A. didn't have anything on this guy and he was nothing more than a wannbe.

Posted by Christopher at August 28, 2006 03:00 PM

leftymn is correct.

Why was Homeland Security dispatched to Bangkok to bring Karr back to the U.S?

The JonBenet Ramsey case is a matter for local law enforcement and has nothing to do with national security.

No wonder they can't or won't capture Osama bin Laden; they're using resources for local law enforcement cases instead.

Posted by Christopher at August 28, 2006 03:03 PM

What day did this story break?
Wasn't it a few days after the Lamont victory? TIKI AL made the comment that Don Imus was making comparison photographs of Lamont and Karr on his show.
I can hear turdblossom's belly laugh all the way here to AZ after this one!

Posted by Seven of Six at August 28, 2006 03:13 PM

Mimikatz

LOL!!

The guy just looked too starstuck for me.

Doesn't this end the "somebody not living in the house" line of questioning?

Posted by Daryl at August 28, 2006 03:16 PM

Seven of Six,

Imus is a rich Republican with a home in Connecticut. He's been a loyal Liebermanite for years.

He's been disparaging to Mr. Lamont on the radio and on MSNBC.

Posted by Christopher at August 28, 2006 03:17 PM

Showing a picture of Karr next to a picture of Lamont was low even for a no talent GOP druggy like Imus the Lieberasskisser.

Was this Boulder DA in charge of seeing 9-11 coming?

Posted by TIKI AL at August 28, 2006 03:25 PM

Karr, Karl...only off by one letter, hmmmmmm?
And speaking of a distraction, what ever came of those British citizens who were responsible for the ban of carry-on liquids on airplanes?

I'll repeat what I said on an earlier thread. The Fourth Estate is a Farce.

Posted by emal at August 28, 2006 03:26 PM

So Chris, did Lieberman get speed bumps installed in I-man's Conn. neighborhood? Why the blind Lieberworship, when Imus is supposed to be against the war?

Something stinks.

Posted by TIKI AL at August 28, 2006 03:33 PM

Did OJ find his wife's killer yet? Maybe, he will admit to committing that crime also.

This fucker is a plain pedo-phile whack job. Save children. Put him in the CO State Mental Hospital in Pueblo!

Posted by Seven of Six at August 28, 2006 03:47 PM

TIKI AL,

LMAO! Well, I don't know about speed bumps, but my guess is, Imus, like Russert and George Steph, Leslie, et al, are invested in the status quo.

They don't like ANYONE entering the rodeo uninvited or unannounced.

Posted by Christopher at August 28, 2006 03:56 PM

This was nothing more than a Strawman for the 2006 election. The media couldn't ask for a better gift: an alleged gay, male, pedophile, murdering rapist.

Gay Marriage will, once again, be presented as the most fundamental evil facing every American today.

Nevermind those foreign policy and civil liberties "things".

Posted by Tampa Student at August 28, 2006 04:52 PM

Why was Homeland Security dispatched to Bangkok to bring Karr back to the U.S?

Uhh...no doubt to cover the 10 troops that died in Iraq over the weekend...and the 25 that died today if CBS news is correct. Just numbers, though. Just numbers.

Posted by phidipides at August 28, 2006 04:55 PM

Oops, and there go the book/movie rights

Of course: "They're not looking for money for themselves," said Larry Garrison, a producer the family hired to represent them in media deals. "They're looking to support John's boys' college education and to make sure all legal fees are covered."

Riiiight.

Posted by Jim Faith at August 28, 2006 04:55 PM

Ladies and Gentlement: anyone with a brain has known for 6+ years that the centerpiece in this so-called Bush Administration is the duplicity of the Corporate Media Tool of the GOP. Without control of the Press/Media, they would be toast. Rove knows it, Hitler knew it. History repeats itself. Control the message and you control the people. I'm not saying that the GOP told the inept Boulder Prosecutor to arrest this guy with NO evidence except his nut-rant, but the Media Too was there to exploit it, par excellance. Again, control is the thing.....turn every happenstance into a diversion, keep the public eye off the ball.

Posted by T2 at August 28, 2006 05:09 PM

Hey, this is what I think

Karl sends homeland security to Thailand to bring this guy home and eat up the news cycle for a fucking week the day that the Federal Judge rules Bu$hCo guilty of violating the Constitution and the FISA Act -

now,

him not being guilty eats up the news cycle on the anniversary of Katrina

instead of the news media reminding everyone of this bastard's criminal negligence in letting thousands of people drown in NOLA.

Complete. Set. Up.

Total. Bullshit.

Posted by Anjha at August 28, 2006 06:06 PM

The media couldn't ask for a better gift: an alleged gay, male, pedophile, murdering rapist.

Tampa,

No evidence Karr is gay. In fact, he's been twice married.

Also, statistic show the majority of pedophiles are straight men.

Posted by Christopher at August 28, 2006 06:14 PM

My question is, did "slam dunk" Freech perform the analysis that led to taxpayer money being spent to send DHS personnel to Thailand?

I'm sure that person will recieve the Presidential Medal of "heck of a job" Freedom soon.

Posted by herbal tee at August 28, 2006 06:23 PM

And when will the "media" inform us as to why the Dept of Homeland Security was involved in this fiasco?

Leftymn, Homeland Security is also involved in the business of porno. What's that about?

Let me see: No charges.

Phidipides, he is facing charges on possession
of child pornography. Something he was arrested for in the past, but before he could be indicted, he skipped town.

Anjha, BINGO!

Posted by Judith at August 28, 2006 06:41 PM

A publicity seeker? Perhaps. But more importantly, I think, he was a get-me-out-of-a-Thai-prison seeker.

Posted by WWB at August 28, 2006 06:52 PM

The guy was in jail in Thailand and was afraid to be indicted there and would have to spent time under the worst condition, therefore cook up the all story. He had a first class return to US land with shrimps and champagne.
I came to this story line first week. I would have let him rot on Thailand jail, until they had got the DNA result? I guess I was right. That proof that he was smarter, than all others that where involved in his transfers. Are we really producing smarter people or just getting our youth stupid by telling them the Bush is right!

Posted by not stupid at August 28, 2006 09:00 PM

Soto:

Cable news will have to actually cover the issues again, unless Larry King, MSNBC, Greta, and Nancy Grace can tie Karr into the Natalie Holloway disappearance.

I couldn't agree with you more, Steve.

Posted by Toby Petzold at August 28, 2006 09:28 PM

Am I the only one who thinks Karr looks a litle bit like J. Robert Oppenheimer?

I am already certain that Howard Dean is what Lee Harvey Oswald would have looked like if he had survived to middle age.

Posted by Toby Petzold at August 28, 2006 09:30 PM

I have to say, he's the guiltiest looking guy I've seen in a long time. Creepy as hell.

Posted by dj moonbat at August 28, 2006 09:44 PM

Phidipides, he is facing charges on possession
of child pornography.

The murder charges were dropped. They would have never sent Homeland security to get someone on misdemeanor child porn. They would more likely arrest eveyone in the U.S. with pictures of their kids running around after bathtime.

I have to say, he's the guiltiest looking guy I've seen in a long time.

Damn activist DAs. She should have just gotten the Feds to hold him as a terrorist. He would look a lot like Osama if he had a towel on his head, a beard, lots of tan juice and about $60,000. in plastic surgery!

The guy was in jail in Thailand and was afraid to be indicted

He was in jail because of the murder charges from Colorado. He carried on a long..years long...discussion with...never mind

Jesus...Karr really does serve the noise machine very well indeed. Lindsay Lohan got another letter and I wonder who'll win the next Survivor? Ya think the tall blonde's tits are real? There...that'll keep America busy for a while.

Posted by phidipides at August 29, 2006 05:41 AM

I can see the J. Robert thing.

No one liked my Gary Numan comparison?

Posted by snark at August 29, 2006 06:22 AM

I thought you were talking about Ric Okasec, snark!

Posted by iamcoyote at August 29, 2006 08:24 AM

Was he in Aruba when the blond went missing last year? Maybe Greta can salvage something from this fiasco.
