Why won't these fucking zombies just go the fuck away?
How about some fresh blood that is principled, gutsy, truthful, honest, and snti-fucking-war?
Posted by angryspittle at August 28, 2006 08:00 PMIn the Court of the Crimson King...Ah the memories Pess. Greg Lake and Ian McDonald, what a song, what an album. Liked the first three after that they got weird. Thanks for reminding me.
Posted by peter at August 28, 2006 08:25 PMAlright! A King Crimson reference. Good on ya!
Posted by Toby Petzold at August 28, 2006 09:25 PMIt won't be Clinton or McCain. Clinton won't make it past the first primaries. She's hated by the activists in the party. McCain is hated by the activist fundy wingers in his party. Giuliani won't be the repug nominee either. As lame as he is Frist may be the repug choice because the fundies like him.
Posted by cmpnwtr at August 28, 2006 10:16 PMAs a dem activist since the Clark-Dilworth campaign in Phila, Pa, in 1950 (as a 12-year old I stuffed mailboxes), I feel confident in saying that there's no way Hillary wins any dem primariesl
Posted by Brian Boru at August 28, 2006 10:31 PM"So why are Clinton, Giuliani and McCain the front-runners in the 2008 presidential race?"
Because the media tells us they are.
Because the media tells us they are.
And who owns much of the friggin' media? Between utterly venal whack jobs like Sun Myung Moon, Rupert (Nazgul) Murdoch and other multi-billionaires like Conrad Black, recently forced to divest (to another right wing group of investors), the "media" is the ONLY reason that the bizarro world of Beltway politics has been enabled. A truly informed, not distracted, citizenry would have heaved the whole lot out long ago in revulsion.
The idea the old Rupert could buy himself a superpower is the most revolting concept I've ever wanted to deny. I don't dislike Hilary as I do McCain. She calculating and utterly selfish, it's true, but I think she'd govern, if allowed, in a genuinely centrist way, more or less, sort of. But I despise her for sucking up to the Armies of Darkness in order to advance her own, crass little career. Hell NO! To put it crudely, Fuck the bitch. I would never vote for a Murdoch candidate. I'd put all my energy into trying to form a genuine, representative party. Maybe, if the upcoming elections are blithely stolen, AGAIN, without a whimper from the "Democrats", it really is time for a third party. Murdoch can keep what he's already paid for. I'd really consider going Green.

AKA, she's a politician.
...but I think she'd govern, if allowed, in a genuinely centrist way, more or less, sort of.
My feelings exactly. Only I don't think she'd be allowed. By either a Republican congress or by a slim Democratic majority congress. Congress critters are stupid that way.
