pessimist, downstairs, is an ass with an inflated ego - can't post anything on his thread, so just thought i would share my setiments here.
Wouldn't it be great if the world was a stage and all of the actors would just shut up and do what they petty little directors shouted out?
Posted by at September 7, 2006 07:32 PMFrom what I've seen in my short stint reading this site, you have to be pretty damn disruptive to get shut out.
Have you been pretty damn disruptive?

Hell, he seems to tolerate me...generally. He's either a saint or sniffing Magic Markers.
And the Mad King, idiot son of George, saving Osama from death and destruction? Good god, he's been doing it all along! The neo-cons get it. I just wish they would explain it to me. Why do you neo-cons and republi-cons hate America and allow it to be unsafe? What's in it for you?

Given the above, if the US/Israeli fiasco in Lebanon is the template for the attack on Iran, America's non-negotiable way of life faces an existential crisis much sooner than expected. We're about to get a demonstration of the real revolution in military affairs on a grand scale. It's not going to gratify the cynical hardware salesmen who constitute our national security elite or the ignorant flag patriots who support them.
Ahoy, Condi. Nice shoes! How's sales?
Posted by Pvt. Keepout at September 7, 2006 10:15 PMOTOH this could be just about the first intelligent move ever in the "War on Terror." Heads on Plates to whoever wants them in this part of the world seem to be delivered, as we have found to our cost, not by fullscale military assaults and bombs and conquests and chest beating, but by human intelligence, police work, and bribes.
If you in some way have the locals on your side - instead of perpetually bombing and attacking them - then required heads on plates might turn up.

Isn't that an amazing thing? You help people, show them you are concerned about them, provide a little health care if they need it, help educate their kid, share a meal with them, show them you are also a human being with a family...concerned about the same basic things they are concerned about...and the goodwill lasts for generations. Blow their babies up with a GBU and you get something completely different.
