"Five years later… this is still… just a background for a photo-op.
It is beyond shameful."
Thanks indeed Keith!
It is absolutely imperative that we all write to Keith and MSNBC and thank him for his courage and truth telling.
He has more guts than anyone who I have witnessed on the teevee in a very long time.
We must let him know how much he is appreciated.

Anjha is right. I wrote Keith this morning, wondering if Countdown might be heading in the same direction as Altercation.
Posted by Danton at September 12, 2006 12:53 PMI think another reason Keith's ratings haven't fared any better is that people don't know he's over there. They're in the mindset of watching the major networks for their news. I have a friend who is a diehard Democrat and she didn't even know about Countdown until I sent her one of Keith's outspoken videos. Now she's watches him religiously.
Posted by pol at September 12, 2006 01:17 PMSooooooo.....a member of the press risks sticking his head up and out of the hole, taking the chance he will get "Whack a Moled" by the Republican message delivery system: Rush, WSJ editorial board, radio talk show hosts, Fox News, even Evangelical ministers in their churches. We have waited a long time for an honest voice and now, at long last, there is Olbermann, I say HOORAY!!!!!!!

I only have basic cable and don't get MSNBC (only Faux News, hmm, Comcast must be a corporate supporter of republicans) so I'd never even heard of him until the Rummy rant. Now I love him, but I have to count on blogs to let me know when there's a really good commentary to watch and then wait for it to show up on youtube. Actually, I heard about this one on yahoo news. He rocks.
Posted by CG at September 12, 2006 01:23 PMI'm old enugh to remember Murrow - and Olbermann is as good or better than Murrow - his comments last night on 9/11 were simply brilliant.
Posted by DOT at September 12, 2006 01:46 PMIn the meantime, the administration keeps stretching the truth. Today, we find out through MSNBC that "The American military did not count people killed by bombs, mortars, rockets or other mass attacks including suicide bombings when it reported a dramatic drop in the number of murders in the Baghdad area last month, the U.S. command said Monday." It seems ok to Bush&Co to change the statistical definition for "people killed" in Iraq so they look better.
I have just one question, do they count deaths caused by American air operations in the definition or are such dead people, not "people killed" by violence?

We are not a free country if the truth is anomoly.
Thanks Keith. Keep it coming and I'll keep clapping.
Posted by mparker at September 12, 2006 02:01 PMDo you think Harry Reid and others have been sent this?
This is passionate, honest and factual. It is too bad that Mr. President will probably never see it - and would it even register with him?

Crooks and Liars also had video of Denny Hastert stumbling through the singing of the National Anthem on the Capital steps yesterday.
Priceless.

Mparker, that sure hit home.

Go to MSNBC online and checkout the videos.
I only wish they would put Olberman head to head with Couric and the other MSM shills. MSNBC's ratings would go through the roof.
Posted by phidipides at September 12, 2006 06:34 PMI never quite understood the belief that those who are polled on AOL tend to be conservatives. I just read some comments on AOL about Keith Olbermann, and was really taken back on how many posters want to hang him. There was the usual "the mainstream media is liberal" (typical response from uneducated America). However, what is apparent is the right does not like it when a liberal commentator speaks the truth. I can only imagine the hate mail Olbermann receives.
