Ann, the Mad King from Crawford was never half the man you were, kid. Safe journey, old girl. You deserve your rest.

"He can't help it. He was born with a silver foot in his mouth." You will always be remembered for that brilliant statement. Rest in Peace.

A lady of such grace and wit. She never backed down and she always kept her head up.

Scout, how dare you try to stain her memory. She was one of the most decent people I've ever know.

Her kindness and sense of duty didn't come from an percieved obligation to avoid eternal damnation, it came from her heart.

Perhaps you should pray to your maker to eventually be blessed with one.

Steve, can you delete his hateful thread? It is offensive, inappropriate and hateful.

Scout, you just crossed the line. Steve, truly, Blue in Texas is right, Scout's comment doesn't belong here, please.

A great woman; smart; literate; informed; fair; decent and brutally funny.

I meet her briefly at a fundraiser back in the sumer of 1999 and we exchanged a few acidic remarks about King George.

Why the voters of Tejas turned her out for Bushco, I will never understand.

A better liberal couldn't be found. Ann Richard will be missed.

Ann, Rest In Peace!

scout you are one scumbag mother fucker!
You think that your God and only your God is the correct God! You think that your opinions merit more than anyone else's because your intelligence is above everyone! Such a thinker? Your ego and your God will not let your mind expand past your repeated drivel!
I hope your God is a fire and brimstone God, for surely he will make you pay for your treatment of others!! Piece of shit!!

Can we all now agree that scout is the lowest form of troll? Ban 'im, forever!

Thanks to Steve or whoever deleted scout's thread. Ann deserves our respect for her life of public service.

I will be accompanying my Momma to the Texas State Capitol this Saturday to pay our respects to our late Governor.

I didn't care for certain of Ann Richards' policies, but I appreciated her as a representative of my state and as an example of the strength of our womenfolk. She was old school and I, too, can be proud of her.

I only saw her speak in person a couple of times, but I had the pleasure of getting to know her daughter Cecile in 1996 when we worked together for the Texas Democratic Party. Cecile is a beautiful and interesting woman, as was her mom.

Having said this, I should add that it is ungracious to question the Bush family's duty to pay their respects to Ann Richards. They will certainly be there because it is right that they should.

Long Live the Great State of Texas!

Absolutely the Bushes have every right to be there to pay their respects.

Long Live the Great State of Texas!

Ohh, I don't think the great state of Texas is going anywhere any time soon. But you may want to look up a good spanish translation of that saying.

I never thought I'd say this, but Toby, that was a nice comment. Better check the zipper on your lizard suit, your humanity is showing! ;)

"Why the voters of Tejas turned her out for Bushco, I will never understand."

Christoper, they did it the same way Bush won two Presidential elections, plus smearing her with vile accusations and of being a lesbian.

I heard today that she put more people of different races in public offices than any other Texan.
