"Vote: the instrument and symbol of a free man's power to make a fool of himself and a wreck of his country." —Ambrose Bierce
Now we are finding out that nearly 10 percent of the paper receipts from Diebold are blank or otherwise unreadable. That’s a problem because some States require that the paper receipts from touch screens be used in any recount, including Ohio. I would say that the master plan to take over this Country is in place and ready for the next two elections.
Posted by Judith at September 14, 2006 01:44 AMI predict that the GOP will gain seats in the House and Senate in November. I won't wonder how they did it.
Posted by CG at September 14, 2006 06:13 AMBradBlog has more http://www.bradblog.com/
The kicker is that BlackBox, Brad, JFK, and a substantial grassroots group have busted their asses trying to get Secretaries of State, AG, campaign officials, Congress, MSM and have proven Diebold hackable but they are stonewalled every single time. Most people toss this back as a conspiracy theory and have another drink. It's real.
Me an' CG are in perfect agreement. Unless someone grows a brain at national GOP headquarters and decides to let this one slide so the BBV machine issue can disappear as they would like it to.
But then they'll be scared to death of what a Democratic House will do if they can dig up spines and malfeasance enough to push for impeachment.
Posted by idiosynchronic at September 14, 2006 06:41 AMOf course there's the option that the Dems get a majority and STILL Congress provides no oversight.
Posted by mainsailset at September 14, 2006 07:12 AMHas anyone checked for a surge in Diebold put options?

[Editor: ignore=off]so does this surprise any of you?
do you use the "windows" operating system?
do you realize anyone can trick your computer into giving up anything they want? and you can't do anything about it because the system is designed to be hacked. It was built that way for a reason
our voting machines are even easier
Any of you in a state with voting machines, why would you allow it? everyone knows they are rigged, and yet you don't do a damn thing to stop it?
you get what you pay for in politics, so pony up!
Posted by oldtree at September 14, 2006 07:51 AMBush has already proven he can do anything a dictator can do with impunity. The Republicans know their geese are charbroiled if they lose in November. Why would they bother changing now?
The thing is, the 'pukes have managed to prove that government doesn't work, now, even elections are worthless. All this does is prove to Joe Sixpack that his vote doesn't count. The louder this story is yelled, the more people will stay away from the polls. They don't have to hack the machines now, the damage is done.
Posted by iamcoyote at September 14, 2006 09:36 AMIamcoyote, I didn't know that Joe Sixpack even voted.
"Any of you in a state with voting machines, why would you allow it"?
Oldtree, we protested against using Diebold in Missouri. So what did they do, they switched to ESS. It's not a matter of allowing it, we were told that is what will be used, like it or not. I will go to the polls and vote, but I do not believe that my vote will be counted correctly. How sad is that?
