Comments: Could Jerry Lewis be next?

and yet, lewis is roundly regarded as a "safe" republican, and the dems are not mounting a serious challenge against him.

None of it matters, as Bush will pardon each and everyone of them before leaving office (if he leaves). Ney nor anybody else will never see the inside of a prison.

And the New Jersey Democratic Party is trying to replace their senate candidate U.S. Senator Robert Menendez: appointed by (now) Governor Jon Corzine Senator Menendeze is under federal investigation.

Reminds me of the (ex-) Senator Robert Torricelli. Remember him?

And then there is (ex-) Governor Jim McGreevey. Seems like all these ex-people and soon to be ex-people are Democrats....

Good luck with that.

Of course it's a safe seat on the face of it. The guy has a big war chest, but look what his top two expenditures are this cycle, lawyering up and fundraising. And the lawyer is about a third of everything he's spent.

It's a conservative district, why I don't know because there's a lot of working class people there voting against their interests, and a growing Latino population. Too bad the gop stopped talking about immigration, huh.

From what some of his critics are saying, he's vulnerable because of his impending legal troubles. What we need is a little more action from the opposition. That would be Louie Contreras, who has a plan according to this post. Hopefully we'll see some action soon. You never know, but if he's alive and breathing, when lewis gets indicted, he's good to go. A heckuva plan, and cheap too!
