This is Union busting at it's finest! Let's continue to get rid of the middle class.

Thanks, paradox, for writing about this. With the insanity going on in the world, just plain livin' is getting harder each day for more and more people.

And it should be noted that if you've read about Bush's outburst today at the presser, you must see the damn thing. He's off his rocker! Be very afraid.

The bu$h administration decided to take advantage of the death of Pat Tillman. Rummy's DoD have not told the truth surrounding his death. Surprsing? No. This is the status quo for bu$hco.
Unfortuantely, the Tillman family have been treated like the rest of Americans, only the price they paid includes Pat's death. It's a shame to think that everyone is deprived of Tillman's presence because of this dirtbag pRe$isdent.

What's really weird is that my next door neighbor was his recruiter from the Chandler mall where he enlisted with is brother Kevin.

The weird thing is, I remember a handsfree mobile phone law back in 1992 or 1993 here in California. And since I didn't have a cell phone, I stopped paying attention and it seemed just a few years later, it was no longer required to install hands-free ability in your car. I always wondered what happened to that law.

Of course for Bush the layoffs look like fresh meat for the military recruits needed for Iraq, Be all that you can be!

"It does not have to be this way, and it’s easily possible to build a society that protects and helps the American worker. At least with Democrats in power there’s a chance."

Only by ignoring fundamental economics. (But I do suppose that in the "reality-based community" fundmental realities do not need to be considered...after all, Air America is still a viable radio network, right?)

From the part of the article that bagley did not read from Think Progress:

The right wing is sure to seize on Air America’s financial woes as a sign that progressive talk radio is unpopular. In fact, Air America succeeded at creating something that didn’t exist: the progressive talk radio format. That format is now established and strong and will continue with or without Air America. Indeed, many of the country’s most successful and widely-syndicated progressive talk hosts — Ed Schultz and Stephanie Miller, for instance — aren’t even associated with Air America.

Radio giant Clear Channel is so committed to progressive talk radio that, this week, it will announce a partnership with the Center for American Progress and MSS Inc. to conduct a nationwide search for the next Progressive Talk Radio Star.

UPDATE: Air America responds.

If Air America had filed for bankruptcy every time someone rumored it to be doing so, we would have ceased to exist long ago; it may be frustrating to some that this hasn’t happened. No decision has been taken to make any filing of any kind, we are not sure of the source of these rumors and frankly can not respond to every rumor in the marketplace.

How was the vacation bagley?

Re: Jake Plummer and Pat Tillman. Thank you Jake for your courage. The lies and obfuscations by the administration to the Tillman family don't make sense. They have made it seem that it was done to lionize Tillman as a pr effort. I think that's bs. It was known that Tillman wanted to expose the missteps in the war in Afganistan. A sure way to forstall this exposure was to get rid of him; murder. Do I think those in this administration are capable of murder? Just ask yourself, is bush a serial liar? I hope this will be one of the first investigations of this administration the Democrats will undertake when they regain power.

i don't where i have filed my previous comments on the auto industry, and the reporting on same, but i shall reiterate....

something that has always astonished me is how i have never seen an article in busweek, forbes, fortune, wsj, nyt, wapo[or elsewhere for that matter] that illustrated gm's, ford's, chrysler's real financial problems.

don't you find it interesting that no examination considers the numbers of supernumeraries[the white collars], the managers, directors, the vps, etc and their perquisites and compensation[in active time and inactive - retirement - time].

perhaps such revelations are out there. but i sure haven't found them. on the other hand, i don't have a lot of free time to do that research. someone else might want to do that....

so as to reveal what the amerikan financial press hides...

ford, gm, chrysler executive compensation contrasted with toyota, nissan, honda executive compensation.

now, things may have changed in this increasingly fascist era, but at one time, in the reagan era, i think, the ceo of toyota received compensation that was a fraction of what the ceo of ford, gm, chrysler were receiving.

another bit of reality that i never seem to see reported is the number of salaried [non-union] employees contrasted to the number of hourly [union] employees. and what those salaried compensations compute to an hourly wage.

there is so much more that i could say concerning the executive thievery at ford, gm, chrysler.

but enough for now.

for a later date, the complicity of the gangsters running the uaw.
