Comments: McAuliffe Thinks He'll Be Hillary's Campaign Chief Next Year

If Gore is still open to the idea of running, it would actually help him for Hillary to be the 800-pound gorilla in the early running. That way, everybody would be fed up with their (lack of) choices, and Gore could throw his hat in the ring at the last minute.

The netroots would go for it, and a significant portion of the money folks would go for it, too. It would give the press both a "redemption" narrative and an "outsider" narrative all at the same time. Brilliant.

The more I read what Al Gore has to say these days, the more I think we need him as President. Let's draft him to run and elect him in 08, yet again.

There is far too much videotape of Gore ranting like a lunatic for him to mount any attempt at ’08.

If you’re bound and determined to back a proven loser, Kerry’s your man. He thinks he can finally answer some of the Swift Boat questions, so it’s only fair to give the guy another chance.

Looks like gas is heading for $1.05/gal by early November. Imagine that.

There is no candidate who will be everything to everybody.
To demand that is to guarantee a loss.
The '08 election will result in a new President, preferably a Democrat.
"A Democratic president will lift all Democratic boats."
Positions will have to be filled.
It goes like this:
Clinton for President, or leader in the Senate.
Obama for President , or Vice President.
Warner for President, or Secretary of Commerce.
And on and on.
We have 2 years to fight that out.

The election that means something today is the '06 election for Congress.
Really important for our country.
It means oversight, investigations, accountablity, subpoena power.

'06 Democrats that can accomplish that .

Edwards will not be intimidated by Hillary's war chest.

He's used to fighting and beating those with far greater resources.

Terry McCauliffe? HA! Good luck with that.

More helpful advice from the authoritarian right.

But if Gore is such an obvious "lunatic" and "loser", I wonder why rightists like west don't encourage the Dems to re-nominate him?

Running against a "proven loser" should be just what "conservatives" want, no?

West, you are a proven liar, why do you keep posting here?

If Gore can keep the fire that he seems to have now he can go a long way. It will be important for him not to take the 'play it safe' DLC type advice he is sure to get if he runs. America is going to need to reembrace science if it is to come out of the hole the Bushite fundamentalists-and I mean that word in several senses- have put us into. Gore could be the Democratic icon president that the party points to for several decades.

As partisan as I am, I can only think of a relative handful of Democrats who actually raise my hackles and anger me viscerally.

Terry McAuliffe is among that number.

He is absolute dogshit. If HRC thinks he's the way to go, then I am genuinely sorry for the prospects of the Democratic Party in 2008.

Some pepto will help you with that.
