Comments: Allen's Racism Comes Out Again

Allen's not a racist. He just hates black people. But, that's the republican policy so it's not racist. Got it? Kayne West finally got it!

Racist lizards win statewide elections in former Confederate states with regularity. I don't see this as a big problem for the Allen campaign. Although he may suffer some publicity problems, privately people will feel that Allen is being picked on for something that is common and harmless.

NB - I don't think it's harmless, but racists and racist leaners do.

Steve-O,

I just got in from a reader, put it up on my blog and was preparing to send it to you.

I agree: George "Grand Wizard" Allen is done. He'd better lineup those lobbying jobs cuz' his U.S. Senate career is over.

Let me get this straight. In 2000 a man with verified status as AWOL from Nam gets elected (allegedly). He had known past problems with drugs and alcohol. He ran multiple businesses into the ground. His performance in college was far less than stellar. His southern roots and down home style were all a calculated persona donned by a man born and raised in uppercrust New England. A drunken, lazy, cowardly fake assumes the presidency yet George Allen can now be ruled out of the '08 race? Please, you greatly underestimate the stupidity of the electorate. George Allen is just the sort of man this nation would elect to the job.

Howard Dean has said that he and George Allen were both Governors at the same time and so were in the National Governors Association together. From his contacts with Allen, Dean concluded that Allen did not belong in public service. That was an understatement.

Stevie, you're such a Pessimist! Remember when ol' Jesse Jackson called New Yorkers Hymie town? Yeah, well, his career was really ruined then too. Then he had a kid out of wedlock. Bill Clinton sure is lookin' good, now, right? The press is hauling his ass out just so the American public can see what a real Prez looks like. Jesus Christ! Bring on Hugo Chavez!

Being a VA voter, I wished your prediction was true… unfortunately polls still show Webb being 7 to 10 percentage points behind Allen.
I really do not understand the people in VA …. Allen is bashing Webb with a series of negative ads … claiming Webb is disrespecting Nancy Reagan … to being a quitter when things get tough. The Polls seem to indicate these negative ads are working.

I hear of all the predictions of “taking back the House” and possibly evening up the Senate…. But I no longer am getting my hopes up…. I watched Gore and Kerry go down in defeat when the were ahead in the polls …. So how can someone behind in the polls in a conservative state like VA …. Beat the incumbent just because the incumbent is a bigot? I would loved to be proven wrong… but I am not holding my breath….
