Huh? I don't see that the interviewer is at all critical of Bill Kristol. He's _agreeing_ with Bill Kristol. What he thinks is tragic is not that the Republicans are staying the course rather than withdrawing, it's that they're staying the course rather than escalating.

Posted by phidipides at October 1, 2006 09:46 AMFinally! Someone who agrees with me about the u-tube.
Posted by iamcoyote at October 1, 2006 09:50 AMWhile the screen says "Democrats and Republicans battle over Clinton Comments" Kristol says Iraq War is not working but Bush CAN'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL AFTER ELECTION DAY. Smith says that is a disgusting and repulsive reality.
You got that right Sheppard,
DISGUSTING
AND
REPULSIVE.
Looks to me that Sheppard Smith veered off topic (slam Clinton) and did a "Clinton" on Kristol about Bush's War in Iraq.
Wonder what Roger Ailes thinks about that?
Remember, his office said he was just being friendly. This fucker should get 20 years.
They say he used the screen name Maf54 on these messages provided to ABC News.
Maf54: You in your boxers, too?
Teen: Nope, just got home. I had a college interview that went late.
Maf54: Well, strip down and get relaxed.
Another message:
Maf54: What ya wearing?
Teen: tshirt and shorts
Maf54: Love to slip them off of you.
And this one:
Maf54: Do I make you a little horny?
Teen: A little.
Maf54: Cool.
The language gets much more graphic, too graphic to be broadcast, and at one point the congressman appears to be describing Internet sex.
Federal authorities say such messages could result in Foley's prosecution, under some of the same laws he helped to enact.
"Adds up to soliciting underage children for sex," said Brad Garrett, a former FBI agent and now an ABC News consultant. "And what it amounts to is serious both state and federal violations that could potentially get you a number of years."

Posted by Judith at October 1, 2006 10:59 AMThe game is now plain for all to see. In the last week, we hav e Kristol saying democracy is inconvenient, Newt Gingrich wanting to do away with the federal judiciary, a majority of Republicans in Congress doing away with the Great Writ of habeas corpus, and an Attorney General of the United States warning federal judges they better not interfere with the president's decisions. Couldn't be any clearer that what trhe Republicans are doing is killing the American form of constitutional government, foreswearing their own oaths to protect the Constitution, and trying to create a unitary executive form of government in line with their authoritarian wishes. I wonder if they all would like President Hilary to exercise all of the power they are trying to load in the presidency? But--as Ben Franklin said--we couldn't keep the republic. It died this past week, even if the Republicans will investigate the House leadership with the same enthusiasm and thoroughness with which they investigated President Clinton. Surely they will, right, since the leadership enabled and covered up a child sexual predator? Right? Right?
Charles
Paradox,
This is your definition of Bill Kristol finally got eviscerated for functioning as a propaganda drone?
Ah, OK.
But rest assured, had I been sitting across from this lying, neocon, PNAC-founder, you would've seen what a true evisceration looks like.
You could just tell that Kristol wanted to come out and say that elections were a problem and should be cancelled for the good of the country.
has any of this been reported by "loofa bigbill o'reilly"..do any of them have any shame...hastert should be forced to resign if he knew about foley..love all this shit coming out 6 weeks out from the election
Posted by dennis at October 1, 2006 12:18 PMSorry, my comment was Off topic. All I saw was the header "Disgusting, Revolting Reality." That will teach me to read the article first. (sigh)
Posted by Judith at October 1, 2006 01:31 PMEviscerated? We must have been looking at different clips.
Posted by Sonoma at October 1, 2006 01:48 PMIs there a transcript? My video is not working properly.
Posted by Judith at October 1, 2006 01:52 PMSheppard Smith sounds like a democrat in this interview. A FOX interviewer questioning Bill Kristol's optimistic view of how things are going in Afghanistan and Iraq?
I had to watch it twice to reassure myself I wasn't imagining I heard what I heard from Smith.
WOW!

Hey Shepard Smith.
Thanks for getting real.
You can almost smell the poop
squirming out of Kristol's partisan ass
as he gets grilled with some well-deserved vitriol.
Shorter Kristol;
Bush is playing politics with the lives of our soldiers.
