Comments: Tom Reynolds' Chief of Staff Fired For Withholding Emails From Page Board

Leadership created the environment for this. This cake is baked.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have our scapegoat.

Posted by ann at October 4, 2006 11:36 AM

Hastert didn't turn Foley in last year because after they talked, the Speaker thought they were both on the same "PAGE." ;-)

But what about the Gitmo tribunals dammit!

Sorry, couldn't resist. We have the Republicans by the balls now, seriously. We are going to kick their asses in six weeks.

it's fun watching them talk, for they are just crafting a noose with their tongue. pretty soon, people will be pointing fingers and offering up that nasty "proof" that lawyers insist on. pages will come and name names, and show "emails" and other nonsensical truthy type documents, you know, those "facts" that are clear to show that in fact it was frodo that caused it all

Are there enough buses around to handle the coming tide?

Posted by phidipides at October 4, 2006 12:34 PM

I really didn't think Hastert was at risk, but in the past 48 hours, things have taken a turn for the better and the pressure is on him to step aside.

Five days; still front-page news...

There's a reason Dateline NBC has made a recurring feature of its pedophile sting episodes.

I would give good money to know the political and church affiliation of these people. I'm willing to bet 75% republi-con and 90% fundie church attenders. These people are all alike. Rotten in the middle and to the core.

FoleyGate is providing cover for alot of bad GOP/Bush stuff - namely the rapid rise in Iraq violence. Here's another that slipped by under the Foley smokescreen. GOPer John Cornyn, a Bush Shill member, who screamed in favor of the Mexican Fence to keep out terrorists and immigrants, now admits that the Fence will never be built due to lack of money. He said "just because it was approved, doesn't mean there's money to build it"......he also mentioned that it wouldn't do anything to stop illegal border crossing either. Now, folks, this is just plain crooked representation. And once again, the Dems got suckered into voting for a political phoney issue by the GOP.

Think Progress breaking from Kirk Fordham via AP, "...he had more than one conversation with senior staff at highest level of House asking them to intervene." The conversations took place AT LEAST A YEAR earlier than the members have acknowledged.

Well, that little scapegoat ain't going down without a fight.

Anyone hearing anything about the list of gay republi-con staffers and representatives circulating in other blog outlets? Some sites refusing to post it, others are talking about who they work for (Santorum, etc.).

Some are intimating a network of Page hustling/rustling folks...all republi-con. If the blog lord gets this list, please consider publishing it here.

No doubt! The wife told me Katie didn't even cover it last night, not one mention.

Wasn't it Reynolds who surrounded himself with kids yesterday in an interview? I would have fired my chief of staff for that stunt!

Anytime the 'party of responsibility' wants to step up and accept 'responsibility', I'm all for it!

Amazing, "just fired this morning ", But the linked story says he resigned. NBC, CBS, Rueters, AP, and Fox all say resigned. But to Steve here it's "fired". What's Steve depending on ABC for now? Isn't Disney not to be trusted for it's 9/11 miniseries. Sounds to me that he had legitimate reasons to resign. Also, isn't it funny how the GOP favored ABC broke the Foley story last week? No one else was working this. There wasn't a need to pull the trigger fast ala 60 Minutes II. There's an aledged deal attempted by Fordham. Why didn't the GOP leaning ABC take it? Sounds like they're just out for the truth like many of the media.

Phid, I don't know if you caught this from the other day: Now what is this about Pages should stay away from Kolbe of Arizona?

Phid, Kolbe is the only openly gay Republi-con in the House, maybe Congress. He's retiring this year, maybe they know something and are going easy on him. I don't see this as much an issue. Good for Dems though.

His seat is AZ-8th, which has Dem. Gabrielle Giffords leading in the polls by double digits! Her opponent Randy Graf has aligned himself with hardcore immigrant reformers, the Minutemen Project. Doesn't go over well with us voting hispanics in AZ. He should have known better in an area not that overly populated with rich white males.

Well, that little scapegoat ain't going down without a fight.

And that's interesting--usually, they'd have bought him off with the promise of, say, a lobbying gig.

Say goodbye, Denny. BTW, I wonder what old Tom DeLay knew about Foley?????

Posted by T2 at October 4, 2006 01:48 PM

Peter, please see my post above.

Posted by mainsailset at October 4, 2006 01:48 PM

Crooks and Liars had the Reynolds episode yesterday with the press. These guys have no shame. Reynolds surrounded himself with kids because he knew he would be asked questions about Foley!

"Hastert didn't turn Foley in last year because after they talked, the Speaker thought they were both on the same "PAGE." ;-)

Really? Maybe we should check Hasturds emails.

Phid, I don't know if you caught this from the other day:

I did 7-o-6, but din't thank you at that time. Thanks! I was quoting directly from a Page blog post.

Doesn't go over well with us voting hispanics in AZ.

Good god, I hate the Minutemen. They're just a pack of white cracker weasels. Good luck with getting a rational representative.

I wonder what old Tom DeLay knew about Foley?????

Are you saying "knew" in a biblical sense?
