My biggest personal project this cycle has been promoting my ActBlue pages. My friend Paul (Gibbo on DailyKos) and I have put up 3 separate pages, each with their own focus but all designed to raise money to help create the much hoped for Democratic wave to take over both the Senate and the House.
Carpe Senatus! Seize the Senate!
Challengers to the House Homophobic Hotlist
We've also driven from San Francisco over to Stockton (CA-11) walk a precinct for Jerry McNerney in his race against the ethically-challenged Richard Pombo. Though McNerney staff 'warned' us that the city was quite conservative, we found people friendly and open to being engaged. We plan to go back next weekend.
Posted by Regi Burns at October 25, 2006 01:23 AMNH-01 working hard for grassroots candidate Carol Shea Porter, my husband who is running for state rep and other Democrats. We are writing notes on postcards for Carol, today I will try to get some stamps on them for next weeks mailing, also going to a union rally for Carol tonight. She was endorsed by the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard unions yesterday, even though her opponent, Jeb Bradley the multimillionnaire, thought that he alone had saved the shipyard during the BRAC process last year. Carol is a middle class mom, married into the armed services, has a daughter in college and a son in high school, went to LA right afer Katrina to help out, and has followed her opponent around our district for a couple of years, asking him the hard questions.

Working hard for the Democratic Party in northwest Hillsborough County, Florida (precinct committeewoman). I'm an at-large poll watcher for early voting so I've been making the rounds to different libraries to see how the vote is going. I'm working for Phyllis Busansky in the 9th CD of Florida as a team leader. We are phonebanking, doing visibility all over the place, and will do a BIG lit drop on Saturday.
I'm also on the steering committee of DFA Tampa Bay.
Simply put, I'm doing everything I can to take my country back.
Posted by Susan S at October 25, 2006 04:39 AMFunny, I've contacted the NH Democratic party with the hope of being able to do ANYTHING to help. I'm in district-02, where it's neck and neck. They still haven't contacted me. I'm really irritated about it as well.
Posted by Brian Rapp at October 25, 2006 05:03 AMReally good to hear about your efforts!
Brian - have you tried contacting the Paul Hodes campaign directly?
Posted by eriposte at October 25, 2006 05:36 AMWorking phone bank as much as I can from October 28th through November 4th for McCaskill in her race against Talent. The goal of the Democrats here are to contact every Democrat in the City between those to dates. Election Day I will work calling people to make sure they have voted, and to arrange a ride to the polls if they do not have a ride.
Posted by Judith at October 25, 2006 05:37 AMPhone banking and flyer dropping - and reminding coworkers what's at stake. I'm trying to get off work on election day, as well - we'll see about that one.

Posted by snark at October 25, 2006 05:57 AMBrian,
Don't wait for the party to contact you. If your local organization is like mine, we only have a handful of people trying to do everything. You have to seek them out--be proactive--and don't let the disorganization you see demoralize you. Howard Dean told us that rebuilding our party would take a long time and he was right. Get involved today to start making the necessary changes.
Posted by Susan S at October 25, 2006 06:05 AMSnark,
I assume you are joking - and if you are, please don't joke about doing things that are criminal...
Thanks
Posted by eriposte at October 25, 2006 06:06 AMSorry. I get a little wrapped up in the emotion. Ya know if we don't impeach Bush the Bill of Rights is effectively dead.
Feel free to remove my comment if you think it somehow creates a liability for The Left Coaster.
Posted by snark at October 25, 2006 06:19 AMSnark,
OK, apology accepted.
BTW, it's very difficult for me to monitor every thread and delete every comment that I think is inappropriate. Not only do I not have the time for that, I don't want to give the idea that I somehow approve of every comment that I don't delete. Obviously, I don't necessarily approve of every comment but in the spirit of free speech we (at TLC) let people have their say. I'd like the cooperation of readers to therefore use the threads for civil discourse and discussing constructive ideas, thoughts and news. Don't let trolls hijack the threads - ignore those who are here to simply create disruption.
Thanks in advance.

I've never done so much during an election. I have given money, raised money through my ActBlue website, made phone calls at the Jim Webb for Senate campaign HQ, and done calls through the MoveOn.org Call for Change campaign. I've always given money to democrats running for President but Ive never felt such an urgency about doing more to help. We just have to take over not just the House but both houses this November. What if GWB gets to nominate another Supreme Court Justice?! I think that if the Democrats take over the investigations into the K-Street project alone will produce such damming evidence that Republicans will be out of office for a generation. We can govern. We can't help but do a better job than these yahoos.
