add Pastor Ted to the ever-growing list of GOP Wing-Nut FELONS. Yes, trusted spiritual advisor to George W. Bush is an admitted drug buying Felon and John. Really, that adds up to a pretty crooked guy, huh. Apparently, he and George were real good buddies. I wonder if Mr. Gannon knows Pastor Ted?? And I wonder if his whole Evangelical Church is simply a front for drug dealing and prostitution?? This is too sweet.
Posted by T2 at November 3, 2006 02:01 PMWhat kind of Hotel recommends a gay prostitute for a massage? Why did the voice recording of Art (ted) ask for "more" If it was his first and only time?
Posted by goose1 at November 3, 2006 02:16 PMThat is such a 'sweet' picture!
Posted by Seven of Six at November 3, 2006 02:19 PMWhat kind of Hotel recommends a gay prostitute for a massage?
The kind that charges hourly rates.
Why did the voice recording of Art (ted) ask for "more" If it was his first and only time?
Because the lies are always hard to keep straight. (no pun intended)
Posted by snark at November 3, 2006 02:20 PMBut they couldn't get a good picture of Bush with Abramoff? Oh well, this one will go great with the evening news.
Posted by iamcoyote at November 3, 2006 02:34 PMThe Story here is not "Gay" or "hooker".....this guy Pastor Ted sought and purchased Methamphetamine - a controlled substance - a DRUG. What the hell kind of guy hangs out with the US President weekly, and then goes out and buys meth from a hooker? Then preaches Bush=God to millions of people while he's speeding. Here is a bet I'll make: Bush remembers meeting him once at a fundraiser, but never really met with him otherwise, as far as he can remember. I betcha there is some e-mail erasing going on at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Posted by T2 at November 3, 2006 02:36 PMWhat the hell kind of guy hangs out with the US President weekly, and then goes out and buys meth from a hooker?
Well, Bush just did an interview with Rush Limpdick, didn't he? There ya go.
Posted by iamcoyote at November 3, 2006 02:43 PMbought meth..what is that like buying aspirin??..ordered a massage ..just happened to be from a gay man and he can't remember what hotel he was at..good stuff
ain't life grand
Posted by dennis at November 3, 2006 03:40 PMI'm sure Pastor Ted's name has just been added to the Pardon List.
Posted by Judith at November 3, 2006 04:31 PMBush's name sure seems to be constantly linked to drugs, gays and criminals. Wonder when someone will 'out' Bush?
Posted by Judith at November 3, 2006 04:38 PMPride always comes before the fall. George should remember that old saying. I am sure Pastor Ted gets it now.
Posted by Judith at November 3, 2006 04:40 PMJudith, Wayne Madsen has implicated Bush in his blog, along with Karl Rove, Larry Craig, and many others--i've always thought he was just off the fringe, however, he called the Foley scandal months ago...
I think this is the tip of the iceberg, pardon the pun;>
Posted by cheSF at November 3, 2006 05:02 PMI hear that those pictures w/georgie in the white house cost upwards of a 100k. I would love to see the IRS come down on that church.
OK, I'm asking a bit much!
Posted by Seven of Six at November 3, 2006 05:04 PMWow, who would have thunk it, a gay male prostitute posing as a fake journalist for a rightwing created news organization and now this.....a meth buying male leading evangelical pastor who likes massages from male prostitutes...both of them well connected to this WH. I see a theme and pattern developing here.
Posted by emal at November 3, 2006 05:50 PMpoor Ted! now I'm just starting to feel sorry for him - must be hard to be so stupid...
Posted by OldCoastie at November 3, 2006 05:53 PMI bought the meth for myself but I didn't use it.
I threw it away because it was sinful.
The dog ate my homework, and I had a flat tire.
Makes sense to me.
Posted by TIKI AL at November 3, 2006 07:23 PMHonestly, I feel sorry for Ted's children.
Posted by Seven of Six at November 3, 2006 08:38 PM"Honestly, I feel sorry for Ted's children."
Seven of six, that is always the pain in situation such as this. Your Dad is a well known and well respected Pastor, and suddenly life and the family unit is disrupted. It is the children, who do not have the scoping skills of an adult, especially the 11, 14 and 17 year old, who are the real victims of a father living a secret life.
Posted by Judith at November 3, 2006 09:15 PMYesterday morning, Ted Haggard was interviewed by Denver KUSA as he left his home near Colorado Springs. There were several statements that stand out:
"We can’t get into much. We’re a little late for an appointment." What appointment would he and his wife be driving to on a day in which his entire life is on the line? A church investigation? Doubtful. Why would his wife be with him? I’m betting on a therapist appointment. He’s lying right now, and my guess would be that the person he’s lying to is in the car with him - Gayle Haggard.
"I put myself on an extended suspension of my senior pastor role. I resigned from the N.A.E. Because both of those roles are based on trust. And right now my trust is questionable." Good for him. His trust is questionable, particularly in his marriage, and his wife is sitting in the car next to him. His feet of clay are showing, and he’s still trying to keep things from crashing down around him.
After denying sexual involvement [with the man he claimed he never heard of the night before] he admits going there [to see the man] for a massage, and admits he bought Meth from him, but says he never used it, threw it away. He claims he went to see the man by referral from the hotel he was staying at. He doesn’t recall which hotel. Why?
"I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels in Denver, because I write in Denver." That scenerio is pretty transparent. I guess his story at home is that it’s just too hectic around the house and he has to get away to write his many self-help books. What author goes to a nearby city and checks in to many different hotels to write? A cabin in the mountains maybe, some kind of retreat, but not downtown hotels in Denver. Again, who would be the target of such a story? The lady sitting next to him.
I suspect that his Denver writing life is populated with a lot more people than just his current accuser. Sooner or later, his story is going to completely fall apart. Somebody’s going to start finding a lot more information about "Art." It’s yet another story about living in a society that confines homosexuals to the closet. But in Haggard’s case, he’s both the jailer and an inmate.
Posted by Mickey at November 4, 2006 03:05 AMI was just wondering where the Justice Dept is in all of this. Gonzales was making a big deal (like Ashcroft before him) about sex and drugs and porn. We have regular contact with the President and photo evidence that he gets in the front door of the White House as well as through the switchboard at will. A local Colorado tv news station finds out what Federal agencies should know about the longtime associates of the President. Naaaah, I guess I was expecting too much of Federal police power. I feel certain the KGB in its heyday would have vetted who gets close to Fearless Leader. If we are going to have a dictator, those Federal guys had better sharpen their skills and get more involved.

I read Madsen and sometimes wonder if he's beyond the fringe. But he does have hits and , more than that, always provides a larger context with many more dots connected. I do not have time in a day or a week to check out his myriad dot-connections to know if they are valid and that is my problem with WMR. One thing he has done for me (and it has been borne out in follow-up) is convince me that Mike Malloy's "Bush Crime Family" reference is an accurate characterization of their history. Compared to them, Joe Kennedy was a piker.
Yikes! This guy's another major hypocrite. He pretends to have conservative values when in fact he's a flaming liberal. Kinky sex, drugs, and probably rock and roll. Why is it that all the hypocrites seem to be closet liberals? ;)
