Comments: George's Lunch With Nancy

Heh, yeah have lunch with Pelosi, remind her that he had Rummy fall on his sword. Sort of a metaphor for presenting her his actual head on a silver platter. Kiss a little ass, try to get a feel for how many rocks she intends to turn over in the next several months. See if the Pres and Dead Eye need to ramp up an impeachment defense. Agree vocifierously about cleaning up the Congress. See if he has any possibility of fucking up Social Security before he leaves office. Give her minimum wage.

We saw the Bolton confirmation coming, but the surveillance thing is new. Please tell me that the Democratic bozos in the Senate now feel confident enough to threaten a filibuster rather than lay doggo for this last chance to push through law that the country doesn't support.

Or are we going to see deceptive polling again stating that the citizens continue to believe that you have nothing to fear if you've done nothing wrong?

Hey Steve, thanks for changing the picture for one without Dead Eye! He looks like death warmed over.

Posted by snark at November 9, 2006 12:13 PM

Nice photo...BUSH, as usual, smirking for the cameras instead of looking "at" his guest! I say GIVE HIM NOTHING...great watching MACACASTEIN conceding...hypocrite! Feel badly for his pretty wife and daughter...not because he's conceding...because they're STUCK WITH HIM!!!

Posted by Dancer at November 9, 2006 12:14 PM

So did Pres. Cuckoo Bananas serve his guest the usual honey and ketchup or did he celebrate with his favorite baloney and whipped cream?

Did Pres. Nimrod masticate a bread roll while holding forth on the great issues of the day with a stream of adolescent idioms and expletives?

Did Speaker-Designate Pelosi gently, indirectly and politely but unmistakably put Pres. Oafish Lout on notice she intended to have his head on a pike 12 months hence?

Good.

Bush is Cuckoo Bananas if he thinks a defeated outgoing Repub Congress that hates his guts is going to give him any presents.

I get a feeling this new Congress are going to make something veto proof.

Pvt. Keepout

Yeah that look and "smile" on Nancy's face says "Get yourself buried son."

"Pelosi, with stake ready to stab at the evil monster's heart, checks his cold dead hand to satisfy herself that she is killing one of the undead blood suckers. Rummy, the prince of War, is dead. Frig-em-all Cheney, the evil puppet master, is in hiding" (to be continued)

"I will say this -- it is very clear that the major combat operations were an enormous success," he said, of the March 2003 invasion in which Baghdad fell within weeks. "It's clear that in Phase 2 of this, it has not been going well enough or fast enough." -Donald Rumsfeld today.

Ummm, yeah. Sure. If you consider rushing into the middle of a hornets nest against a rag tag bunch of ill equipt conscripts while the Republican Guard melt away into the surroundings to pick away at you once you've effcetively tied yourself down and stretched yourself to thin in hostile territory an enormous success.

Gawd!

Bush and Rove are smart enough to know that they have two months to ram through as much bad stuff as they can. I wouldn't be so quick to assume the GOP Senate and House (today's version) won't go along.....many of them have nothing to lose either and it's their last chance to throw some pork back to their districts, if they have other office goals in mind. Writing off the GOP in these last two months would be a serious mistake, total vigilance will be required and the willingness (now with the public's unquestioned support) to snap the head off any Bush Monster that is put forth.

"It's clear that in Phase 2 of this, it has not been going well enough or fast enough."

Perhaps if they had done any planning for "Phase 2" but they were expecting flowers and candy.

Sorry to be off topic a bit Steve, but I am surprised that there has not been a howl from the Progressives after Rummy-dum basically implied that the GWOT was too complicated for the unwashed and that was the reason the pukes lost the election....as a post script: anyone have an idea how much the offensive former sec of defense made on the Tamiflu option package...seems odd that now that we know the shit doesn't work the fear of bird flu seems to have vanished!!

Everyone must go to the "It's all Politics" thread and read Rob B's delightful parody of a rightwing troll. It's brilliant! I think the poor guy just wet his pants.

I think the funniest thing of all was that Nancy Pelosi tells Bush to fire Rumsfeld at noon on Wednesday, and at 1:00pm Rumsfeld has his walking papers. Ronny Reagan had his Nancy to boss him around, and now Bushy has his own Nancy (I just hope Bush doesn't start calling her "mommy"--that would be just too weird).

Posted by Jeff Hendrickson at November 9, 2006 01:53 PM

Sorry, but I think Pelosi is looking at Bush and thinking, "Get me the hell out of here and away from this lunatic."

Posted by Christopher at November 9, 2006 02:09 PM

This is hilarious.

I can't believe what a gorgeous day it is. Really.

Posted by paradox at November 9, 2006 02:14 PM

I truly hope House Speaker Nancy Pelosi carried antibacterial hand soap to the meeting because Bush is said to have notoriously poor hygiene habits.

God only knows where Bush's hands have been.

Mehlman going down, no pun intended!

Posted by Seven of Six at November 9, 2006 02:32 PM

christopher -LOL- that was a good one

Posted by T2 at November 9, 2006 02:46 PM

SOS, that's not a pun, that's the truth. Why do you think Bush is smirking all the time?

Posted by iamcoyote at November 9, 2006 02:46 PM

This is very off topic, so excuse me, but I was having a hard time finding a left leaning post to mention it.

I'm sure most of us were worried of large-scale voter fraud (diebold), especially after seeing the republican talking point in the days before the election: Exit polls skew towards democrats (paraphrased). That sent chills up my spine. It is now clear, however, that large scale voter fraud did not occur.

However, as some of you might be aware, there was potential voter fraud in sarasota county in florida (where else?), where 18382 voters apparently did not vote for a congressman (The winner, a republican, won by 368 votes. This represents ~14% of voters in that county. http://www.miami.com/mld/miamiherald/news/state/15965769.htm
This undervote was 10 times higher than that of the items above and below the congressional vote on the touchscreen ballot, which were the govenors race and the senate race.

This is very suspicious.

We, of course, don't know if that undervote disenfranchised democrats predominantly, and I won't speculate otherwise.

However, this event underscores the importance of a paper trail, which florida still will not approve. One might ask, why is florida one of the few states that does not have a paper trail for electronic voting machines? Are they trying to look nefarious?

Please keep this in mind everyone, and write your legislators (especially if you live in a state that does not have a paper trail). Maybe now we can make a federal law requiring all states that use electronic voting machines to provide a paper trail.

During lunch did bush follow his daddy's rich tradition and puke on Pelosi?

Or did he just have her pull his finger for a good ol'boy laugh riot?

Posted by TIKI AL at November 9, 2006 05:51 PM

Apparently, the Republicans think that they're going to win by moving even futher to the right.

We'll know for sure when they choose their new leadership. If someone like oilman Joe Barton of Texas joins the leadership, it's business as usual and more time in the wilderness for the red party.

BUSH IS THE MAN!!!!

Posted by Left O' Left at November 9, 2006 07:26 PM

Christopher, I've heard rumors about Bush's BO, and his nosepicking antics are legend. Brad Pitt doesn't bathe often enough either according to Jennifer Aniston. Does Laura bathe often enough? She must reek of cigarette smoke and crack. No wonder Cheney ain't no where around. He probably can't stomach the stench in the WH. Is he still alive? Do you wonder if somebody hasn't filled his face with buckshot?

At least Bush didn't give Nancy a German Chancellor back rub, the one deal I believe embarrassed the American public so much, that's why they finally revolted Tuesday!
