Might as well face up to the fact that the hole this country has dug for itself may be too deep to get out of.
No matter whose in charge.

Maybe. Webb is saying the stuff we need to hear and want to hear. I'm very surprised that the WSJ printed it. Webb didn't even yell "Macaca" while saying it. Refreshing.

Brown, Tester, McCaskill, Sanders, Cardin, Whitehouse and Webb are as good a group as we could reasonably hope for. It's definitely the best class in decades.

Remember the ditch that Bush41 drove this country into after only one term (when the term "jobless recovery" was invented).
Clinton took over in 93 and it took at least a good 2 years for things to turn things around and another 6 to get things going the right direction.
Then the wise and sage public citizenry decided Gov Bush was trustworthy. He of Texas who funded public education with taxes on strip clubs. S-I-G-H!
The wild card that can't be trusted is the public that does vote. Not the half that don't vote.

I think the wild cards are the "Morals Voters" and those who still believe the lies of Conservatism. I'm hoping Bush drove a spike into the chest of each of these creatures. People really want a change. That they may decide to vote foolishly at times is part and parcel of the democratic dice-toss.
I firmly think Bush-43 was not elected in either 00 or 04. Elected gives a form of credence to him being elected to office rather than only being there by a decision from the Supremes and 250,000 Ohio votes not being counted.
