Comments: Coming soon to TLC: Blog Op-eds

This is freaking terrific! Brilliant!

What a great idea, eriposte, I'm such a fan of Dean's 50 state strategy! It's nice to know the netroots won't be ignored now that we've won this election.

How exciting.

I like it. Especially since there are several Greens, independents and others who aren't Democrats who wander through here.

Eri - how about opening op-eds to other political party reps? I'm not looking for the he said/she said debates we get all the time in other news outlets, but I think extending the same offer to the RNC could be interesting. And if not interesting, it'd at least be comical as hell. :)

I like idio's idea. Could be interesting.

Wait a minute--I'm looking around TLC's page, trying to figure out how anyone has the kind of pull it must take to get guest bloggers like that. Am I missing the "About this site" link? I'm really curious now. I want to see more about the writers here.

The scary part is the 50 state strategy hasn't even taken hold yet. It usually takes a couple of election cycles to put something of this magnitude into place. Four years from now this thing is going to be moving toward unstoppable. I like that kind of scary.

You get that kind of pull by earning it, Julie.

Eriposte to this day is cited by Ambassador Joe Wilson as an impeccable source on the Niger yellowcake story. Wilson is not the only one who noticed, and the yellowcake story is not the singluar achievement of eriposte's career.

More, please, paradox. This kind of information needs to be featured in an "About this site" introduction kind of link.

Julie, eRiposte has his/her own site! Intricate research and deep analysis!

Guest bloggers? I like it. Let's hope they hit the ground running. I look forward to it.

Eriposte, how about a series from time to time by you on some of the things Democrats in Congress should be looking at closely in the next year or so by way of investigations?

Posted by Craig at December 5, 2006 01:50 PM

Idio,

I thought of that but it is premature. The RNC already gets free unpaid media 24x7 with their multi-hundred million dollar noise/media machine. The DNC barely gets through the media filter here and everyday progressives rarely get a chance to influence or discuss their ideas directly with the DNC. That's one of the reasons behind this choice.

Julie,

Paradox's kind words aside, this is not about me. TLC is a well known progressive blog and Steve has always focused on ideas and strategy. It is a natural place for the DNC or other policy-focused entities to participate (which is not to say there aren't other great progressive blogs which facilitate and engage in strategic and policy discussions - there are some).

Craig,
My time is very very limited of late. If everything goes well (meaning if I am able to get some time), I plan to return to the Nigergate/uranium/Plame affair starting in January. There is still much unpublished information/reporting which I've not had time to post. As for other topics, we'll have to see.
P.S. I'm thinking of other possible guest bloggers. If anyone has suggestions feel free to let me know.

Damn eRiposte, if it's possible, get Joe Wilson or Plame to comment! What a feather! Of course only if they have the time or willingness. I would not want it affecting any pending lawsuits!

BTW, I would love to hear from all other whistleblowers who have been silenced for their patriotism!!
Sibel Edmonds?

Someone from Git-mo who is willing to spill the beans.

Should not an "op-ed" include a view from the other side....well, not here at TLC, I suppose.

eriposte, I need to take some time and go through your site. It looks fascinating. I'll be keeping my eye out for any mention of that creep, Sembler. I'm assuming he was in Italy by then. Say, what about that Italian who had contact with the Russian spy before he died? Anything odd there? This is as good as a Ludlum spy thriller.

Josh and I are very excited about joining this community and we look forward to your comments when we get things started - hopefully later this week!
