Comments: Jack Kingston: Lazy-Assed Whiner

I cherished this comment from one of the most corrupt members:

House Majority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), one of the architects of the lighter workweek, put the best Republican face on Hoyer's new schedule.
"They've got a lot more freshmen then we do," he said of the Democrats. "That schedule will make it incredibly difficult for those freshmen to establish themselves in their districts. So we're all for it."

I'll make sure this is posted everywhere in '08'!

Jack Kingston = worst person in the world.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Oh well, these lazy GOP elites think the world owes them a handout and a favor.

Strictly speaking, Jack Kingston is more correct than you realize: yes, the Democrats _could_ care less about families. But they don't; they care a great deal, which is why they want to attend to the public's business and oh, yes, bring the troops home from Iraq. What the Distinguished Gentleman from Georgia MEANT to say was that Democrats _couldn't_ care less about families. This happens to be untrue, of course, but it would at least be correct in terms of English usage.

Senator Huckleberry has been there. Unfortunately it hasn't made much of an impression.

Who wants to bet it comes out in the next week, he want the extra two days off per week because in addition to his family he's also hanging out with a gay hooker and doing meth... Jus sayin...

Posted by newguy at December 6, 2006 02:01 PM

You can understand Rep. Kingston's concern, given the high rate of multiple divorces among Republican politicians. Perhaps he feels his wife doesn't trust him to be left on his own four nights a week? I wonder why?

I'm sure there are plenty of people who'd be willing to do a mere two-hour commute early on Monday morning, returning home on Friday night, for $165,200 a year and a chance to affect public policy, if Rep. Kingston finds it too hard a life.

I am in agreement. Let's pass a law with a mandatory maximum work week of 3 days. Same pay, right?

Posted by One F at December 6, 2006 02:15 PM

WATB.

Posted by annie at December 6, 2006 02:50 PM

BOO FUCKING HOO

Now all that remains is to pay Congress the minimum wage and see how well they get along on THAT without taking another job or two to TRY to make ends meet.

Then most of use can say, "welcome to my world"

Posted by marblex at December 6, 2006 03:53 PM

Jack Kingston (R-Ga.), who typically flies home on Thursdays and returns to Washington on Tuesdays.

Are you fucking telling me that this jerk works one day a week and is complaining? That's six days he isn't doing what he is getting paid to do? Is it any wonder that the people's business is never done? One F is right, pass a damn law that says they have to work five days a week just like the rest of us. Can't go home? Tough. You knew that when you took the job. Take a three day weekend once a month. I am outraged!

Posted by Judith at December 6, 2006 04:58 PM

do you really want to talk about which party could care less about families?

Eh... Steve... That would be "couldn't care less". I know your version is somewhat popular but it makes no sense...

Posted by buck turgidson at December 6, 2006 07:00 PM

"Conservative" Repubs hate the federal government so much they don't think the Congress should even meet, let alone meet three times a week. That's how Repubs put the "Do Nothing" into "Congress".

Hey, want to spend more time with the family, Rep. Jack? Just don't show up! We'll carry on without you, don't worry. And your constituents will applaud your Repub family values, I'm sure. I mean, you had come to RELY on working half the week---and who knew the corporate headquarters was in Washington DC? So unfair!

Maybe Pelosi should set up a web site for those incovenienced Repub members to cast their "No" votes from the comfort of home sweet home---no need for them ever to show up. Just happily log onto "DONOTHING.com"! Don't forget your password---2Sad7dam9WMD.

What an idiot. I bet this fell flat even in Jesusland. Put on the GOP rubber nose and clown suit, Jack, you'll be wearing them for quite a while. Do the GOP clown dance, little monkey.

Send them down to talk to the woman who was working 3 jobs...BushCo thought that was "uniquely American".

Going to lunch...having someone else pay. Traveling to far away countries and bringing your family and going golfing...on someone else's dime.

Oh...boofreakinghoo. They've forgotten what the heck it means to actually work.

Posted by jillian at December 6, 2006 10:14 PM

Your absolutely right-on with your thoughts, Euzoius. These ass-hats have had a free ride under Bush. They have not passed a single piece of important legislation in SIX years! I think that's the primary reason Dems won in places like Kansas, etc. People are tired of that BS, even in Jesus-land. If the Dems are smart, they'll keep pushing that stick into the monster's cave. People want progress, people want hope, even in Jesus-land.

Posted by sf at December 6, 2006 10:27 PM

The congress had it easy for the last six years. All their talking points came from the white house, rove, et.al. When you don't have to think for yourself or for your constituents, you can show up for work 3 times a week, read what bu$h wants to push through, vote and then go home! Call it a rubber stamp and simply a do nothing congress!

Posted by Seven of Six at December 7, 2006 03:56 AM

I'm feed up with the elite! Obviously these people have no sense of right or wrong.

When people are working 50 and 60 hours a week to just put food on the table, and this asshole is complaining about having to actually work for his big fat salary, I want to vomit.

Posted by Judith at December 7, 2006 04:09 AM

Seven of Six, yeah, Roy and Matt Blunt are both so morally corrupt that they would miss the point. Neither makes Missouri very proud.

Posted by Judith at December 7, 2006 04:13 AM

I wonder where this whack got his work ethic? Oh Yeah, Dimson #43.
Isn't 43 in bed by 10:00 every night? Hasn't he had time to read 60 books ( can anyone say cliff-notes?) in the past 2 months? Hasn't this President spent more time on vacation during his time in office than any other President?
National disaster? No time, I am on vacation, call me when it's over.
Didn't he say during a presidential debate that he knew Iraq was hard work cause he saw it on TV.

These men are not afraid of hard work. They sleep right next to hard work all the time!
Whenever these guys feel like working hard, they lie down until the feeling goes away!!

Go home congressman, we need some adults here for awhile.

Posted by Mark at December 7, 2006 06:15 AM

I guess a "good compromise" would be to offer him 4/10s. That gives him 3 days with his family.

Of course, the first step is adjusting to actually working 40 hrs/week. I can't wait for January!
