Comments: Word of the Year

It's still a consistently funny show; you have to admire the ability to stay in character, and do a monologue for an entire show. Good for Colbert, who can trash a president better than the pundits who are supposed to do it.

I still have a tough time determining when he's in character or not. Was he serious in his answer? If so, how can you tell?

"Shams and delusions are esteemed for soundest truths, while reality is fabulous. If men would steadily observe realities only, and not allow themselves to be deluded, life, to compare it with such things as we know, would be like the Arabian Nights' Entertainments."--Henry David Thoreau
