Here's another little story to add to the others:

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Maliki has made clear he dislikes being the country's leader and would prefer to leave the job before his term ends.

In an extensive interview with a US newspaper, Mr Maliki said he would certainly not be seeking a second term.

I read about the Repubs letter to Pelosi requesting bi-partisanship. I read some of Bush's op-ed at Raw Story. I see Bush is trying to play the bi-partisanship card after both the Administration and the Congress under Republican control have offered anything but.

And then I read the BBC and MSNBC report Bush is headed for troop escalation in Iraq. (Or as Sen Edwards puts it, "The McCain Doctrine").

And then I read Dr. Frank's recent interview at Buzzflash as he extends the logic of "Bush on the Couch" across events as recent as Ford's funeral.

Mr. Soto, I think the only hope Democrats and sane people anywhere have is to draw the purse strings tight and say to Mr. Bush and all his friends, "No More. It's time to go."

We have been far too rational and far to lenient in our consideration of the President. It is apparent even our votes haven't fazed him.

He is writing a "signing statement"--a personal interpretation-- on the meaning of the election in the Wall Street Journal which is not the least conciliatory.

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid need more than 100 Hrs to correct what has been destroyed, but she doesn't need more than 100 hrs to "Just Say No" to the President.

And bi-partisanship is not something I expect to see rear its head during the remainder of my lifetime.

I agree, bu$h has always been an arrogant, "lying prick"!

Can't see how Obama's drug use would make much of a difference. It's going to be his name the repukes will exploit.

I want the repukes in the Senate to side with bu$h until '08'. We will surely have a 60 - 40 majority. And finally we can put 'loserman' to bed.

I hope Romney is the repukes choice. He will be destroyed by any Democrat running!

OMG!

The Puke House Members held a press conference this morning on the SPAN about how the Dems are pushing through their 100 hour agenda without "consulting" the minority and about how 'the American people voted for inclusiveness' and how 'disappointed' that the Republicans are that the Dems are not being more 'bipartisan'.

Holy Crap.

This whiny shit from the same people who locked the Dems out of Conference Committees, pretended to have the conference committee mtgs in one room while the real one was actually occurring in another room and who introduced every single piece of legislation with a closed rule.

Watch out people. These assholes own the media and they are going to try to spread these stories around about how unfair the Dems are being and that partisanship is the Dems fault and they are just innocent victims.

They will play this victim card all over the place - they will win sympathy from people who are clueless about how things have been run.

Most of America is unaware of how things have really been. Most of America does not have the SPAN on 24/7 to know how bad it has been during this past 6 years.

I wanted the Dems to get out more of the truth while it was happening but they were more professional than these Puke assholes and would not go around whining all the time.

BTW - the public wants the Dems 100 hour agenda - we don't need input from the neo-cons.

Watch out - it will be a bumby ride.

the White House informant told NBC that Bush was Escalating for political reasons... But I can't see how he figures to get political points for something no one wants and will certainly result in continued, if not increased, GI deaths. There is just no political upside that I can see. It just sounds obsessed.

Great pick-up Anjha! Your right, we have to make sure all the blogs let MSM know where were coming from.

But I can't see how he figures to get political points...

It is his legacy. The dumb ass figures that when historians look back on his "committment" they will somehow figure that he was "right" to keep fighting this fight. Except for one thing: he is not fighting this fight. The service men and women are fighting this fight and they are dying.

Bu$hCo comes from the crowd who believes that the only reason that we lost Vietnam was that we gave up too soon. He is delusional and denial is his greatest trait.

He is a sick man [child] who cannot stand anyone telling him what to do. So he stomps his feet and does the opposite just to show that he is the 'decider'.

He is a spoiled little brat who knows nothing of reality.

In addition, without war, all of his daddy's friends (and him too, I am sure,) cannot profiteer. They need the war to rake in the money. The people are just pawns, they mean nothing.

Also, if we are at war then he cannot be prosecuted for his many crimes. As long as the war is still happening he has the 'war powers' excuse to continue to do what he is doing.

It is all sick and twisted.

It is criminal.

It is evil.

Impeach him & Cheney already and be done with it. Let's get this coup d'état on the road.

As far as the Congressional Republicans, sequester them in the local Motel Six and padlock the doors from the outside with armed guards.

Posted by Alex at January 3, 2007 11:09 AM

I know one thing, I did not fight the good fight to win back Congress, along with millions of other liked minded Democrats, to have a bipartisian Congress. Work together where we can, yes, of course, but I'm not interested in playing nice nice now that the fuckers are afraid because they lost control.

gtash, good post. Your right, we don't need 100 hours to end this madness and say "no more." We could do it tomorrow.

Posted by Judith at January 3, 2007 11:32 AM

"Bu$hCo comes from the crowd who believes that the only reason that we lost Vietnam was that we gave up too soon. " Yeah, but when it came time for George to check the box Volunteer for Viet Nam, he checked NO. Everything is a test of manhood for him, unless it involves danger.

Posted by T2 at January 3, 2007 11:36 AM

The difference between George W. Bush and Barack Obama vis a vis drug use is this: Obama ADMITS he tried pot and coke, whereas Bush DENIES it, even as he continues to use illegal drugs while in the White House.

The distinction is quite clear. One man is honest and candid; the other is a sociopath incapable of telling the truth.

I had similar thought that I posted up on my blog.

Nancy Pelosi telling the goppers that they don't get to play at first is a warning message to them, and the more they whine for bipartisanship, the longer they're going to sit on the bench.

Whoever thought that dusting off Pelosi's, check that, SPEAKER Pelosi's, minority rights plan has really come to believe their own propaganda. They think the Democrats are spineless, ineffectual wimps, but of course, that was a direct consequence of the GOP stripping the Democrats of any power and influence they might have had in Congress for the last 12 years. And as they say, payback is a bitch. And waving a symbol of one's former impotence isn't going to soften the shock any.

But then, arrogance tends to blind one to reality. They forget that when Tip O'Neil ran things, it sucked to be a Republican, and he was pretty decent to them all the same. Get ready for more from one determined woman.

"He(Ford) believed that you must always trust the Lord's judgement, and not your own."

Isn't it this little tidbit (that I just heard uttered at the Ford funeral) that got the chimp in over his furry little head?

TIKI AL, yeah and as the saying continues, it's a good idea to carry a baseball bat with ya just in case the Lord is busy.

Should Bush call for an escalation as widely expected, we in Montana have planned an immediate response putting people in the streets. THis is a crucial MOMENT and Bush must not be allowed to sacrifice more people in the name of this illegal and immoral war.Begin organizing in your area and show that we are willing to do more than just complain and call for impeachment .Help us get the word out . Get mad. Resist now.

Posted by troutsky at January 3, 2007 01:55 PM

Isn't this the same Bush who about 6 months ago accused Democrats of being terrorist-sympathizers, aka traitors? Isn't this the same administration that held a GOP majority of rubber stampers in the House, Senate, and the courts for the last 6 years? So when he talks about setting aside politics...it's a joke right? Besides, does anyone believe that Bush hasn't already set in motion an escalation of troops without any congressional approval or oversight, before the decider decides to reach a decision to make his decision public?
