Nauseating. Did they engage in a circle jerk too?

We'll see how much Wall Street thinks of George W Hoover if he invades Iraq and gas goes up to $5-$6/gallon.

Then he might get his walking papers when they start prodding Nanceeeee to put impeachment back on the table.

come on now, i check this site a lot but your piece on bush and his wall street "buddies" is ridiculous. read what he really said here

Paul,
Okay, here's what Bush said in the article you reference: "America's corporate boardrooms must step up to their responsibilities . . You need to pay attention to the executive compensation packages that you approve . . . You need to show the world that American businesses are a model of transparency and good corporate governance."

These words, to me, are meaningless (which is something we expect from frat boy) and therefore they give the execs carte blanche to continue to screw their workers and their communities as Steve wrote. You were misled by Yahoo's article.

Bush's administration, by the way, is actively assisting corporations to export jobs and increase profits thereby, thus improving corporate performance and executive pay at the expense of US communities and workers. The execs know this, and know that Bush's meaningless words were "for publication only" to impress people like you.

Cheney's Handwritten Notes Implicate Bush in Plame Affair

Bush's Wall Street speak is the same as Bush's Clear Skies Initiative. Compassionate Conservatism. etc etc etc

So what would you recommend to combat the free markets and the less expensive labor overseas? Tariffs? A trade war? A return to the 1930's? Bring back Smoot-Hawley?

Nice straw man once again Muck.

Muck,
I disagree with Steve--you raise valid questions. I don't have the specific answers, but generally we need (1) a government that requires some corporate social responsibilities, (2) a government that doesn't actively promote job export, (3) a shift from war-making materiel to peaceful industries, and (4) funded educational and investment programs that take advantage of American ingenuity and focus on growth industries, e.g. devices that use renewable energy sources. What do you think?

Well with personal savings at a 74 year low...and jobs disappearing...hmmm what do you think is going to happen......

Anyone can find out where these CEO's live..and a nice rifle with a scope can make their head turn into aerosol...they'll think twice about how much money they make...

remember let them eat cake
