Sorry to be off-tpoic.
Hey kids! Bush just unveiled his budget. And how does he propose to pay for the wars? By cutting healthcare budgets. It's a brave new world...just don't get sick.
Back on topic:
You did see where Murdock indicated FOX puposefully attempted to influence the war in Iraq, largely acknowledging and confirming that his media conglomerate was a mouthpiece for the neo-cons?
Posted by phidipides at February 5, 2007 10:47 AMWhenever these thugs attempt comedy it always comes out mean-spirited and spiteful as they expose their deep hatred of anyone beyond themselves.
Colbert and Stewart are gonna have a field day.
FOXNews (GOP-TV)'s ratings are in a nosedive.
Even the King of FOXNews, Bill O'Reilly, is seeing his ratings tank.
FOXNews is getting more desperate by the day.
Posted by Christopher at February 5, 2007 11:56 AMOn occasion I've watched portions of Fox during the day. My local car dealer and DMV both run Fox news in their waiting rooms.
One thing I noticed, in addition to the non-stop propoganda, is that they seem to go out of their way to feature a story, at least once every half an hour, of a black man or black men committing a violent crime somewhere in the states. These stories always have pictures of the accused, and usually are the sort of crime that never gets national attention.
In fact, one normally would wonder why these crimes even made a national news cast.
Its pretty clear that the reason they do this is to create a racist sense of fear -- like the segregationists (the spiratual ancestors of Fox News) used the fear of black rape of white women to justify the culture of jim crow and lynching.
Posted by Outsider at February 5, 2007 12:07 PMI just saw a very interesting segement on CNN. Topic was Bush's budget and the Billions for Iraq. CNN talking head convened a group of about 15 "average citizens" and asked them what they thought of all the money spent and requested to spend in Iraq. Every one of them was extremely displeased with Bush policy in Iraq and vocally dismissed any more money going over there. They were pissed. And pretty much looked like soccer mom's and regular guys. If this is the gut out in the land, the GOP are much worse off than I'd even thought, and Bush is just d-o-n-e.

"Bush is just d-o-n-e"? I fear not yet. Bubble boy will continue to be willfully shielded from reality as he decides how history will judge him. Cheney, on the other hand, never backs down. Think of a mangy, rabit rat hissing, snarling and foaming frothily atop a half wheel of rancid, slimy cheese.
Now we've just seen some evidence that DICK thinks he's some sort of fourth branch of government, somewhat between the executive and the Legislative branches. Give a guy a gavel and he goes berserk! I think his obsessive view of the Imperial (Vice?)Presidency makes him feel he's just exceptional and beyond control. He's certainly already a uniquely powerful VP.
There's still OIL under those Iraqi and IRANIAN sands. He's got the Navy and the Air Force, hardly broken yet and I have little doubt he intends to use them. More than half the aggressive portion of all US military assets are concentrated in Central Command. In that critical crescent; Black gold! Texas T!
Not only does it belong to him, he HAS to make sure no one else gets their grimy paws on it.
Will he be allowed?
Fox will strive to re-create TDS for conservatives, but what they don't understand is that neocons are missing both the satire and the irony chips. Blatant hate just isn't funny ... and is that Simon Rex as one of the co-hosts?? Talk about douche ...
Posted by CitizenBoo at February 5, 2007 01:29 PMOprah, one of the richest women in the United States, with a lot of power, and a following that love her, will give them all a new one. They have just insulted a woman who has never taken any insult in stride. Good luck Fox. You are about to find out what happens when you insult a woman, much less a black woman with power.
Posted by Judith at February 5, 2007 03:18 PMHillary is getting donations from Murdoch and Ailes. she has been seen at parties smoozing with them.
I am guessing this is aimed towards her main rival. And Oprah is a huge suppporter of Obama's.
This is why they are going racist big time and it's usually aimed at Obama.
I've read alot of stories about the Murdoch connection to the Clintons.
"Without make-up, she looks like a monkey that should be swinging from a tree." That statement was by my Republican friend in reference to Oprah. Yeah, you can be sure racism will be a huge issue in '08, if for no other reason, than those within the GOP hate blacks and see them as inferior. Their worse nightmare is a black president.
