Comments: Tell Me Another One Skippy

... but Saudis sending buckets of cash to Sunnis is dandy. What hacks.

He looks insane. Are we going to wake up in time to avert Iran?
I pray so.

I loved when he said that the idea that they would be saying things that were false or making up intelligence was "preposterous." I pretty much laughed out loud at that one.

Posted by CG at February 14, 2007 05:08 PM

Once a liar, always a liar.

His pants are so on fire!

Posted by iamcoyote at February 14, 2007 05:58 PM

and his nose is as long as a telephone wire.

Posted by Judith at February 14, 2007 06:19 PM

I love the nasty little sarcastic remark about his Father looking at his watch during the debates with Clinton. Family get togethers with Daddy and Babs must be really fun.

Posted by Judith at February 14, 2007 06:28 PM

CG, I laughed at that one also and then called him a f*cker. Sure George, we know you wouldn't make up crap to further your agenda.

Posted by Judith at February 14, 2007 06:34 PM

The die-hard wingers claim we who oppose Bush hate him. To them I would say, I don't hate McDonald's I simply do not believe they sell "happy meals" to our children.

In this same vein, I do not hate Bush, I simply do not believe what he advertises as regards Iran or anything else for the matter. His credibility is shot, kaput, no one believes anything he says and moreover, he knows it. That's the whole problem with crying "wolf" for political gain.

Posted by nlacey at February 14, 2007 06:37 PM

What an ugly SOB. He just gets scarier looking each month.

Posted by Christopher at February 14, 2007 07:44 PM

God, he looks like shit.

I'm not saying that to be crude or a fiery Democrat, but . . . god, he looks like shit.

Posted by DZ at February 14, 2007 08:06 PM

Shouldn't that first line have been - skunks don't change their stripes? (Apologies to skunks everywhere.)

Posted by jwrjr at February 14, 2007 08:42 PM

go steve go.

i say cut off the funding regardless of what and when and where these s..th..ds in the white house do. bring all the troops home now.

how many times do the people of the US have to vote, write letters, answer opinion polls and protest before the ruling elites in this frigging country get the message: get out and get out now.

Posted by michael72 at February 14, 2007 08:53 PM

This is exactly what I first thought too..

Gen Pace said all it proved was "things made in Iran" are being used in Iraq.

Not to stick up for Ahmadinejad - cuz I think he's the Iranian Bush. Actually, he sorta looks like Bush senior's love child.

Posted by Dishwashing Engineer at February 14, 2007 10:42 PM

Re: Ahmedinejad:

One aspect I found disturbing about the President's speech today was that he specifically linked Ahmedinejad as ordering the Quds force to ship weaponry to the Shi'a in Iraq, when everyone knows Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamanei controls Quds. Why did he do this? Of course, it's easier for Bush to sow fear and confusion when it comes to Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, professional Holocaust denier and Israel hater. All red-blooded Americans want to bomb him, right? Who could oppose that? He's an evil man just like Saddam Hussein and the world will be a better place without him in it . . .

Sound familiar?

All the easier to demonize . . .

Posted by Sean-Paul at February 14, 2007 11:08 PM

Sorry, I forgot the link on Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, here.

there are so many munitions available in that part of the world. most of them manufactured by the usa, the uk, chile, russia, israel, ad infinitum.

it's an armaments souk.

consider, there was no effort undertaken by the coalition of the extortion to secure iraqi armories. and then acres of cash were flown into bagdad. and borders were unsecured.

anything and everything could be acquired. from everywhere. i forget sam's last name[cummings], but he operated a cia prop, interarmco. this proprietary supplied armaments to everyone...the ira, libya, hezbollah, the tamil tigers, ad infinitum.

what makes us thing there isn't a successor proprietary?

as i said somewhere else, jay rockefeller ain't going to be meddling in these waters. the bushits were created by the rocks. so was cheney.

when you want to get to the end of the chain of war profiteering, it is the rockefeller family.

never forget it.

in regard to the common Repug whining that all who criticize W ( a solid majority of the country now) hate him, for me it's closer to pity. he is in mental pain and turmoil due to his screwed up childhood, ADD and dyslexia, so he overcompensates with macho insanity. He really is incapable of taking the time to weigh all sides of an issue due to Attention Deficit Disorder. An article in Vanity Fair discussed this--also the book BUSH ON THE COUCH. The MSM has ignored the mental ailment, as though it would be inpolite to bring up the fact that the guy who's destroying the planet Earth has a handicap.

Posted by howard hughes blues at February 15, 2007 03:17 AM

Bush is melting over time.

His face resembles the British royals who suffer from generations of inbreeding which weakens the gene pool.

Posted by Christopher at February 15, 2007 04:46 AM

Well, I for one do hate and loath him, but then again, I hate all those who promote evil or are evil.

Posted by Judith at February 15, 2007 05:16 AM

The Dems ought to drive a truck through the nonsensical argument, but I doubt the Intel Committee is up to the job. I am convinced the only way to stop Mr. Bush is for Mr. Conyers and others to have articles of impeachment drawn up, show them to the President, and tell him that if he takes any more unilateral millitary action, they will be introduced the next day with expedited hearings. Sort of like the Nixon case, but more preemptive.

How hard would it be for David Gregory to ask, straight out, "What is the evidence for Qods having supplied these munitions?" Every reporter in the press conference ought to ask that question, one after another, until it is answered in a verifiable statement. Otherwise one should announce the conference is over and they all should walk out, on camera. To not do this is simply unacceptable. How do we organize a unified appeal to the correspondents? I cannot think of a more important question, given the track record of lies and misinformation produced by this administration. We as a nation should be demanding the answer in a roar.

I swear, that picture is the perfect example of 6 years of hard drinking!

A beer huxter has more cred.

"This Quds for you."

Posted by TIKI AL at February 15, 2007 07:04 AM

Via, that IS what a responsible, independent press seeking to inform the people would do. Think Britain.

OUR press is neither responsible or independent. Nor is its goal to inform the people. You're on your own, basically.

What needs to be asked is exactly why Nero jr is "certain" that these alleged Iranian weapons haven't gotten into the enormous "black market" weapons traffic obviously going on in Iraq. In ohter words, they enter Iraq, get given to someone, and then disappear.

Busjco acts as though Iraq functions like a US Army supply depot in, say, Maryland, with formal requisitions, protected shipments and acknowledged receipts from requesting units, who then secure the equipment

Think that's how it's working with shi'ite and kurdish militias and sunni "insurgents" in Iraq?

Posted by euzoius at February 15, 2007 07:13 AM

Spot on, Steve!

Again, these fighters and munitions couldn't have arrived in Iraq if Bushco had sealed the borders immediately after the invasion--nearly 4 years ago.

Posted by bartcopfan at February 15, 2007 07:35 AM

I saw a blackmarket arms dealer being interviewed on CNN. He had everything from everywhere. 3 hand gernades for $20. AK-47s for $400. He dropped out of college to get involved in free enterprise, and could care less where the stuff comes from.

There are blackmarket arms dealers in Iran too.

Bush would like us to think that the President of Iran sells arms on the border from the back of his Armada. Not buying it.

Posted by TIKI AL at February 15, 2007 07:49 AM

I'm sure the President has solid info. He probably was told about it personally by the Iraqi agent who met with Mohammed Atta in Prague, after he got back from dropping off the aluminum tubes at the centrifuge facility.

Posted by biggerbox at February 15, 2007 09:41 AM

Was tea and yellowcake served at the Atta meeting?

Posted by TIKI AL at February 15, 2007 01:51 PM

Bush's claims about Iranian weapons are an obvious fraud.

The actual Iranian 81MM High Explosive Mortar Ammunition uses a different fuse, tail fin assembly, lettering and fonts from the Mortar Ammunition that the Bush Administration claims the Iranians are supplying.

1) The Iranian 81MM Mortar uses a sans-serif font and lettering "81 MM", "TNT", "CTG M43A1" [note there is NO DATE on the ammunition] while the ammunition the Bush Administration showed uses a serif font with the lettering "81 MM", "HE", "3-2006".

2) The Iranian 81MM Mortar uses a welded steel tailfin assembly while the "alleged" 81MM Mortar uses a cast steel tailfin assembly.

3) The Iranian 81MM Mortar uses a conical fuse with pull ring and a step in the body casing just below the fuse while the "alleged" 81MM Mortar uses a conical fuse with a step in the fuse, no pull ring and a smooth body casing.
