I hope Hill and Obama ruin each other so we can nominate a qualified, thoughtful individual who isn't using this campaign as ego-feed.
Fuck 'em both.
Posted by God Of War at February 21, 2007 11:21 AMOh joy!
And to think we get to enjoy another year and a half of this.
Posted by snark at February 21, 2007 11:25 AMQueen Hillary can't deal with defectors and that's exactly how she views David Geffin who helped her husband pull $18 million out of Hollywood during his 2 runs for president.
Tough shit, Hill.
You refuse to admit your vote authorizing Bush to go to war was wrong and now you're paying the price.
Posted by Christopher at February 21, 2007 11:32 AMYeah, this is going to get old real fast.
When's the first primary? Next year? Ugh.
I kept reading Hillary's loyalists claim she was 'tough as nails' and 'thick-skinned.'
What happened?
Between Obama's rock star popularity and being dogged at every appearance over her refusal to admit her pro-war vote was wrong, Hillary is falling apart.
Posted by Christopher at February 21, 2007 11:42 AMFuck it. This is American politics. Slug it out, bitches!
Come on. You all know its gonna get nasty...you might as well enjoy it.
Don't tell me you don't enjoy watching McSuck, Ghouliani, and Mittster contort themselves to fit their square pegs in the wingnut round holes.
As for Obama, he better justify that "rockstar" status, and soon, or he's going to be a punchline.
And every right-wing pundit, College Republican future assassin and, of course, "journalists" in the mainstream morass are licking their chops in utter delight.
I don't recall a greater serving of Rovian talking points being slung entirely by Democrats since Joe Lieberman slithered onto the Senate floor to denounce the Unzippered President. These assholes had better learn to do their fighting in a more private fashion. This childishness hurts ALL of us.
Posted by DeminNewJ at February 21, 2007 12:16 PMDon't tell me you don't enjoy watching McSuck, Ghouliani, and Mittster contort themselves to fit their square pegs in the wingnut round holes.
Sadly, it appears progressives are more concerned with trashing Dems than they are the assholes that got us into this mess in the first place, which is why Scaife is announcing he's not giving money to trash Clinton this time.
And I agree about Obama. Just what we need, yet another triangulator!
Posted by iamcoyote at February 21, 2007 12:20 PMI am not much of a Hillary fan (not for the reasons you might think) but I have to admit that she is and has always been keenly aware of the threats the country faces, and make no mistake , they are real. I am also quite sure that she probably has more respect ( if she was speaking honestly and there is the rub) for George Bush and what he stands for than she does for the wing nuts and the goof balls in the Democratic Party.
Posted by Curveball at February 21, 2007 12:24 PMSo, Hillary is saying that if you support her, you must give all your money to her and her alone. Any awareness of someone giving money to her and other Democrats will pay dearly for those actions. Last time I looked, people can give their support to whomever they want, and should not be afraid of repraisals. Threats? Another reason to not vote for her. We have had six years of arm twisting and blackmail? Maybe she wants to be the new Hammer of the Democratic Party.
Posted by Judith at February 21, 2007 12:33 PMI do hope someone is keeping notes on the Clinton bashing amongst the Lib Blogs. It will very instructive when she is pummeled by some GOP pig in 2008. The Dumb assed Democrats, ever in pursuit of a loss, will have that women so battered and bruised that she will stand no chance. Like I have said before in here, the open-minded Liberals of The Left Coaster, Kos and the like will only ensure a GOP win with their BS pursuit of a perfect candidate.
Take a break Rove.
Let the liars and the losers and the triagulators and corporatists fall away and be left in the dust.
Only the best for this Country will do after eight years of failure and disgrace under BUSH.
Sorry to all those dumb republic fascists that don't understand, but democrats THINK and DECIDE who to vote for, we are not TOLD who to vote for. That we are not goose stepping in time behind a single candidate in an election over a year away is normal and right. There are more issues to consider then wether or not we would have a beer with them.
Whether Democrat or Republican, I feel like I should wear a tee-shirt saying "I'm With Stupid".
This is the best the US has to offer? No wonder things are bad.

Posted by Alex at February 21, 2007 01:42 PMGod, more political relativism. Why waste your time with politics if you feel the parties are utterly equivalent?
With all their faults, ANY Dem candidate is a better choice for the country than every single "conservative" Repub.
Posted by euzoius at February 21, 2007 01:53 PMdemocrats THINK and DECIDE who to vote for,
Sure you do-wanna buy a bridge?
if Clinton cant stand some honest criticism from te liberal blogs how can she deal with the smears and lies from the crazy conservatives ?
Posted by xerex at February 21, 2007 02:21 PMWho says these are the best the US has to offer?
These are simply the ones willing to offer themselves up.
That some here seem to think the vast majority of Americans want to hear the SAME EXACT things from a candidate that they do makes me chuckle.
Try crafting a campaign message that's gonna appeal to 300 million different people.
Christ, we had people here writing off a candidate over the use of a single phrase yesterday.
Who the fuck would want to subject themselves to two years of having every word out of their mouth parsed to death. Someone with a big ego and a lot of ambition! Wow! Big surprise we get a bunch of preening posers.
The best the US has to offer are doing something other than running for president.
Posted by snark at February 21, 2007 02:54 PMI would be delighted if Hillary and Obama take each other down, while the other candidates remain mostly untouched. I think Edwards is too smart to get involved in nasty tit-for-tat brawls, and probably Richardson too.

Before you start slamming folks around here, make sure you have a leg to stand on yourself.

I keep hearing that. But. Timidity isn't one of those values I admire. Being another side of the same coin is what I'm seeing. Still waiting on the leadership the Dems crowed about last year's elections.
Hell. For that matter. Why not ask Robin Williams to run for president (ala Man of the Year) since we'd at least get a good laugh regularly.
Posted by Alex at February 21, 2007 04:25 PMWhich begs the question...
Out of Peter Griffin, Homer Simpson or Zapp Branigan - who would you choose to lead your country? Why? What do you feel some of their policies might be?
Posted by Alex at February 21, 2007 05:58 PMthe smear is between her and geffen and obama has nothing to do with it. She is acting like some overwrought has been star in the face of the new oscar winner and toast of the town.
get over yourself Hillary.
Zapp Branigan
Because he is humble.
It really doesn't look very good when old supporters don't want another imperial president. Geffen has good taste, and Hillary proves she is a sleaze. And what rational person would have made known a complaint like hers through the media? She was either sending a warning to other contributors -which will fail miserably, or she was trying to draw a line in the sand for Obama -which failed miserably. Either way it proves to me she would be the worst of the current choices for a Dem president.

It smells like Bagley to me.

That and he wears a velour smoking jacket and pronounces "champagne" as "cham-pag-nee". ;)
Cooooool!
