I, mooo, am up to four vials a day. All of my herdmates, and some of the sheep (what the fuck do they know), say this is bad, but I can't help it! I got a need to stagger!
Posted by at March 4, 2007 10:48 AMI also suggest writing the beef council, your local grocery chain and anyone else you can think of... this is a tremendous threat to the public health. If the FDA won't do their jobs, make sure the people who want to make a profit off the cattle understand our concerns.
Posted by OldCoastie at March 4, 2007 11:09 AMTime for Oprah to revisit the beef industry.
When the milk industry decided to put antibiotics in their milk, I spend two weeks calling everyone, including milk producers and local grocery stores. Lot of good that did. We are building up a resistance to antibiotics, and is it any wonder? Your not going to stop these people. They do what they want, when they want, and the FDA gives their approval.
Posted by Judith at March 4, 2007 01:42 PMYeah, right. This is Bush's fault. Pffft. I heard the same story about chicken, salmon and cattle back in the 90's on PBS. (Crowded living, diseases, antibiotics... etc).
You're the problem. Quit eating meat and consuming dairy. They're bad for you anyways.
Posted by muckdog at March 4, 2007 04:39 PMJust think muck, your wonderful veggies will soon be laden with re-use water from the local WasteWater Treatment Plant! How about some of the pills people flush down the toilet, #1 is hormones. Fish are changing gender past effluent lines in streams.
And to think that one bad batch of re-use water mistakenly discharged could carry all kinds of e-coli!
Enjoy your greens.
Posted by Seven of Six at March 4, 2007 08:44 PMthis is one of those things that blame may not be appropriate totally with the idiot. true, he is an idiot, scientifically ignorant there is little doubt. But this issue has been around a long time
you can do two things to help. don't be stupid enough to listen to the FDA about what is safe. they get paid to promote dangerous products and it seems we have had one from this administration that was on the take (one at least)
and, most important; stop eating the things you believe are not good for you. You might consider abandoning eating fish and animals, as it is common knowledge that they are contaminated.
You will not be able to prevent problems from drug-resistant pneumonia whether you eat meat or not.
If you get sick with pneumonia and there are no antibiotics that work to kill the bacteria it won't matter if you never let a piece of meat or milk touch your mouth. You will still most likely die. But the cattle industry will get some nice profits off this.
