Universal coverage through private insurance companies is the direction the states (MA and CA in particular) are heading. I'd like to see some type of system that covers everyone, but isn't government run. Poll questions like the one given are a false choice and don't say anything about what people might actually want. Is there a way to get everyone covered without having a government-run healthcare system? I don't know, but that's what I'd like to see happen.
It's interesting that while many people in this country want to move toward a system more like Canada's, Canada seems to be moving toward a system more like ours. Many people there carry private insurance to cover medical costs that either aren't covered by the gov't system or take too long through that system.
