Comments: Waxman Better Subpoena Halliburton Now

Sorry for my bad language all the time, but these fuckers are simply fucking unbelievable. There is no depth to which they will not descend. None.

So the obvious question is, what exactly were the Dems waiting for before so they could get Halliburton before a committee?

Oh I know, the poor Dems have been out in the wilderness for soooo long that they're still trying to figure out this or that (even though all the legwork has been done on Halliburton as far as documenting all their crooked dealings).

Of course Halliburton would do something like this if they've stolen the money and don't intend to give it back. Well duh!

Outplaying the competition is smart.

I haven't figured out how stupid the Dems are to let this go on for another two years along with the Iraq war and possibly Iran, but the 2008 argument will be why hasn't anything been done based on their 2006 campaign promises.

What a dilemma. One stupid party and one evil party. Oooops. It's all one party afterall.

Btw, I don't understand why the Dems would go along with the idea of letting the rich people's tax lawyers help revise the tax code for the rest of the country. IRS Letting Tax Lawyers Write the Rules by David Cay Johnston.

And at the very top of the Dubai building a luxury penthouse for dead-eye and the lovely Lynn?

And yet he will be safely ensconced in Dubai, never to set foot on American soil again should he be indicted.

With extraordinary rendtion no one is safely ensconced.

Looks to me like the Halliburton execs are "cutting and running."

Besides Waxman, it appears it's time to get Interpol on the case.

So, my 2009 will all these fuckers be setting up housekeeping in other countries? Bush in Paraquay, Halliburton in Dubai. Does Bush and Halliburton expect to be prosecuted?

Here's a fun question for Tony Snow that will never be asked. Why would Bush need a 98,840-acre ranch in Paraguay protected by a semi-secret U.S. military base? Oh, I am such a silly goose. I forgot that Paraquay Government has exempted American from war-crimes prosecution.

Well, it makes sense to transfer your headquarters closer to the action. The purpose of the Iraq invasion was to open up the inconceivable oil wealth of Iraq to OUR petroleum conglomerates, which includes Halliburton.

But getting out of the jurisdiction of US attorneys by the time the jaw-droppingly corrupt Bushco leaves office certainly is another little benefit of Dubai.

I think we do what the local Chamber of Commerce always does when a local business threatens to move: make them feel unpatriotic and disloyal by going big with the "why are you leaving the hometown?" guilt trip.

No, that won't work. They're not going to China or Latin America for lower wage labor. They're actually going to where labor will cost them more!--at least Lesar's will. No more Texas barbecue unless he steals it from shipments headed to Bagdad.

I can see why prosecuting Halliburton in a hurry is hard on short notice. Too much evidence of wrong-doing. No witnesses willing to testify. (Can't you just hear it: "Listen, you say a peep to Waxman and I'll make sure you end up in Dubai.")

Where is Bunnytine Greenhouse? Seems like her insight into Halliburton should be well-developed into legal form after the past three years.

Didn't the Nazis flee to South America to avoid prosecution?

Dubai Ports World.

Who owns Halliburton anyway? Can anyone provide a link to the makeup of their shareholdings?

ah, sorry, posted this on the wrong thread.

Here's a good site for all things Halliburton:

Carlisle Group bought The Watergate Hotel so that security cameras of who had hookers in the Cunningham/Foggo hookergate scandal are not available to the FBI.

Nice thank you for the blood of our soldiers, and the billions of dollars made off this War. Move you business off shore, reap even more profit without paying taxes, and stay out of the reach of criminal prosecution. What a deal.

Judith is right. The unstopables. Can't touch this.

I've got an idea! Why don't we pull our funds and wherever these dude go, we buy the property right next door? You know, like Cindy did. Now Bush won't go there anymore and the town is going broke!
