Democrats Win Two Key Governor's Races

by Steve

Following up on Pessimist’s post below, here are some snippets from the races outside of California tonight.

First, after campaigning for him in the last 48 hours of the race, President Bush managed to kill off the late rally for Jerry Kilgore in Virginia, as Tim Kaine looks to be winning by about five points, and holding the statehouse for Democrats.

Second, Jon Corzine has defeated Doug Forrester in New Jersey to win the governorship there.

In a local race with a national hook, St. Paul Minnesota mayor Randy Kelly, a Democrat who aligned himself with Bush last year, got drubbed today in running for reelection against Chris Coleman, another Democrat.
