Bush Again Rejects Mandatory Emission Caps

by Steve

In the face of the IPCC report that Christina discusses below and bipartisan legislative pressure for mandatory emission caps to reduce greenhouse gasses, the White House this morning once again rejected mandatory caps. Since John McCain, Joe Lieberman, Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, and at least a dozen other senators are moving towards cap-and-trade and emission cap proposals in this session, it looks like Bush will get a chance to veto global warming legislation in time for the 2008 election, thereby sinking his party's incumbents next year.

But at least ExxonMobil and the American Enterprise Institute will be happy.
