Your Mother's Calling, Chuck

by Steve

If you want textbook examples of Democrats who still don’t grasp the political enemy they have been facing over the last six years, you can take your choice between:

•How the Democrats except Russ Feingold seemed tame compared to some Republicans today when questioning General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker; or
•The incredibly stupid reaction from New York Senator Chuck Schumer to the news that Bush was likely to nominate GOP hatchet man Ted Olson to succeed Alberto Gonzales as the administration’s stonewalling AG for the remainder of Bush’s term.

Just read the reaction from Schumer, and try to resist the urge to punch this miserable son of a bitch in the face for being a doormat over and over again.

"Clearly if you made a list of consensus nominees, Olson wouldn’t appear on that list," said Senator Charles E. Schumer, the New York Democrat who led the Judiciary Committee effort to remove Mr. Gonzales. "My hope is that the White House would seek some kind of candidate who would be broadly acceptable.”

Yeah Chuck, I hope for ponies and a million dollars too! My god Schumer, are you that dense? Are you suffering from abused spouse syndrome? Have your parents told you that there is no Santa Claus? Do you ask Bush for permission before you take a leak?

I now realize how much fun Bush and Cheney have had these last six years kicking pussies like Schumer around. The country is heading towards a fascist state, and we have little Chuckie Schumer whining about Big Bad Bush not seeking a consensus candidate.

These are the days that John F. Kennedy’s Democratic Party is such a distant memory that it makes me think of re-registering as an Independent out of embarrassment. If I was twenty years younger, I would begin a movement to create a new Liberal Party if for no other reason that to build a party from the ground up that resembles what this party should have been about before guys like Schumer and the rest of them wore kneepads for Corporate America, and wet their beds every night out of fear of a group of thugs that Lyndon Johnson would have beat the crap out of.
